Currently using playon to stream Hulu to by blu-ray player and just wondered if any of the current streamers can get Hulu natively? I recall something in the past about Boxee being blocked but haven't kept up so figured I'd ask.
TIA

Yes boxee supports UPNP/DLNA.

How well it works I can't comment on.

All my testing with Playon showed it to be not ready for prime time 2 years ago and never went baclk to try again.

I've used PlayOn through my Boxee Box with no issues. I used to use PlayOn extensively back before the Netflix and Hulu Plus apps on the PS3. Now I only use PlayOn when there is a Hulu video I want to watch that's flagged as "web only."

PlayOn works fine on Boxee - PO has improved their app quite well in the last year or so with many new updated version releases - I purchased a lifetime license about a year ago and I there's probably been aroung 60 new versions in that time - I've gotten my $$'s worth out of PO many times over

PO has a new offering (a PVR) that's not ready yet but I'm quite certain I'll be purchasing it when it's ready - I've been beta testing it with them and it seems to work quite well - the beta testing is 'now' by invitation only - it was open to most anyone when it first became available for testing... http://www.playon.tv/playlater/

I've been beta testing Playlater as well. Its a cool app which basically lets your record content you can receive thru Playon. Now if they could figure out how to record content from Starz, Epix, online etc. it would be worth having

You don't have to play the recordings through PO only -- the recordings will play in Windows Media Player without having to access them via PlayLater -- but the recordings are saved as .plv files unfortunately and the 2 media players I have will not play that format and I doubt there are very many MP's that will

Is this still a true statement?

It seems like while it is not through official channels and it is a little extra work to set up, you can get Free Hulu on a Boxee box using Bartsidee?
Is that Bartsidee solution currently still working?

Are there any other hacking/modifications that have been made to any streaming box that allow for Free Hulu?

Thanks for any info!

No, some do Hulu+. There are hacks which allow Hulu to play on some streamers. XBMC, PlayOn, Plex for example.
