My ISP gave me a Sagemcom F@st 2864 gateway which is a modem & router all in one. It has two USB 2.0 ports that allow you to plug in an external hard drive that can act as a network server to host media sharing across my home network via DLNA and UPnP.
I intend to put 720p & 1080p video files on there which I will stream to my xbox 360, WDTV Live Plus, Patriot Box Office, and to my LG BD590 blu-ray/network media player.
My question is: is there any particular external hard drive that you would recommend I get for this purpose to maximize write/read speed? I want to get one that is 2 TB but beyond that, I'm not sure if I should be looking for any other features (i.e. ones that have processors built in, or ones that can handle being access by multiple devices at same time, etc).
Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

For a few $$$ more, a network drive that connects via Cat5/6 instead of going through the router's file server might be the better option. For in-depth answers check smallnetbuilder.com. Probobly the best home networking resource site on the net.
