You need to add maximum bits per second... that is the REAL indicator of quality, not resolution...

How are you going to classify devices like the PS3 that accept DD+ streams but transcode?

I Agree!... i was trying to make a simple chart to give regular viewers a quick answer, but u have a good point to list more useful info for advance viewers.

under PS3 audio, for example; Netflix {supported audio 5.1DD} see ATV2… and …{Vudu supported audio 7.1DD+}….

However, I’ll upload the PowerPoint.pptx file as attachment for any member who is interested to add/edit/sign it (w/user name) and post new image & attachment for the next member. (we may end-up w/several pages & images!!)...(Wishful thinking!!)...

Cheers!

I like the idea but I think if your goal is collaborative editing, a Google Docs spreadsheet or a Wiki would make more sense. I, for example, don't have need or want of installing PowerPoint.

Sure why not, that's why I mentioned, add, edit it or modify it u could convert the pdf or the pptx file to any convenient format (or even copy & past to MS word Doc), edit the file, posted & attach it & post the file format for the next member. The main goal is to post accurate data & have total freedom of collaborative editing.

Doesn't the Roku2 support the 1080P24 content from Amazon? I'm thought I watched some 1080P24 content from there. Or am I getting that mixed up with Amazon and the TiVo? I definitely get 1080P24 and 5.1 DD from my TiVo premieres on the Amazon content that supports it. But with the TiVo it only downloads the content for viewing.

The new WD TV Live will play back Netflix content in 1080P24 DD+ as long as you force 24p output. You can also force 50p output as well.

XBOX Live: Wagmman
PSN: Wagg
BFBC2: Wagman
Steam: Wag

My Second Life character looks and acts exactly like me except he can fly.

I believe, Roku2 support 1080P24 content as a device, but I can't verify if Amazon can even stream in 1080p, if you able to verify it, we'll edit the chart!

Would like to add TiVo to the chart? Or post the info for someone to add it!

Is the Vudu DD+ signal compatible with normal DD decoders? Are there any plans to add Netflix 1080p/5.1/CC or is it hardware limited?

After the update which came out today for the XBOX 360, it is now able to do 5.1 with Netflix and I'm not sure how to test it but the HD video looks better to me too so maybe it is doing 1080P now. Anyone know how to check it and see if it is indeed doing 1080P now?

At least it's 5.1. But DD not DD+. I have no idea why they keep advertising the content in DD+ on the 360 when the content is just going to be output in DD from the 360.

I tested smp2&vudu w/the title Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

- via HDMI & DD+ supported AVR, the smp2 streamed instantly in 1080p / 7.1DD+.
- via optical & DD supported AVR, the smp2 streamed instantly in 1080p / 2.0PCM.
- didn't test it w/HDMI DD supported AVR ( maybe someone else w/ older AVR/HDMI could test it).

As far as Netflix 1080p / 5.1 DD+, the hardware seems to be capable (vudu does it), it might be a future update (Sony has updated it 4-times so far!)

I just watched 13 Assassins. I didn't even know that the Revue was getting a 1080p and 5.1 update until I hit this thread so I looked for a one to test it out.

It was listed as HD and 5.1 DD+ and I watched on a Logitech Revue with updated Honeycomb 3.1. I guess the Revue is sending a 5.1 pcm because I had a great surround going - I didn't check to see what the receiver was getting...

Rock solid picture, no problems during the film. I accidentally hit a button and interrupted play. Once I found the film again, it resumed right where I interrupted it without a problem.

Great fun movie also.

I just picked up a Roku 2 XS. I sort of like it so fa, but:

1. I don't seem to be able to sign in to my paid MOG account. MOG is one of the main reasons I got this (so I don't have to deal with my AVR's Zone 2 issues). Is signing in to a paid MOG account possible with Roku?

2. Netflix, set to 1080p, has great HD PQ for a streamer (better than my HTPC with WMC). But title browsing is limited.

3. No browser (yeah, I knew that).

4. Idiot-proof to use (a good thing), although the UI doesn't win any design awards.

Now I am wondering, should I have gone with either the Revue, or Boxee.

-- Would Netflix/Amazon Prime PQ be comparable for all?

-- Is MOG any better on either? At the ability to sign in to my MOG account would be a big plus.

-- Boxee gets panned for being buggy and a bit geeky - still true?

-- I guess I am asking if I should get the Google TV instead of the Roku?

(Actually, I'd get ATV, which has AirPlay. But it's 720p, and it doesn't do Amazon Prime.)

You should be able to link it to MOG account, I don’t use MOG , but you may try to remove the channel reboot the device then re- add it & link it.
