Just an end-user w/several streaming players & (more on the way), still looking for a decent player that would support all major service provider & stream available HD contents in w/1080p/5.1DD/5.1DD+, like Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, Hulu+, HBO Go, Blockbuster & iTune) & (as holiday Gifts)

Btw, is the Seagate Streaming Media Player is similar to WD TV Live Media Player?

Cheers,

No it's a dog compared to the new Live-S (it was a dog compared to the previous Live+). It's nothing more than the previous FreeAgent+ in a new box to fit their new line of portable HDD"s. Last firmware update was Feb-2011 and is the same as the last update for the FreeAgent+, and there probably won't be any more. It can stream DVD.iso over the network perfectly but it doesn't have the network chops to stream full bitrate BD rips. It's really made to be a media player for their line of HDD's. The FreeAgent+ accommodated their FreeAgent line of portable drives. When they introduced the GoFlex line as a successor to the FreeAgent line, they put a new box around the FAT+ media player so it could dock the GoFlex drives and gave it a new name. Nothing else about the player was "new" and as Tokar already commented, it's really old and of little consequence today.

The bitterness of poor quality lasts long after the sweetness of the low price is forgotten . . . life is too short to drink bad wine
