Subject line pretty much says it all. Also needs to be able to play from a USB flash drive. Seen some cheap ones, but they won't play MKV. I'm looking for cheap as possible, but reliable, of course.

*Not streamers. USB only*

Cheapest ones are some with Boxchip F10 chipset (or Sochip 9800 or whatever, the same chip with different name) ~40$. These play 99% of mkv videos nicely, but the remote doesn't have good range. I have 2 of these, they are very portable, silent, cold and cheap . Look for "1080p media player" on ebay, most say in the specs they play mkv and "bitrate up to 80mbps".

Next are Realtek 1055 based, more reliable, ~60$, for example

If you search a little you can find one with DTS-HDMA passthrough if you're interested in that.

I ordered the mini-player you linked to on ebay. $34, shipped. That should suit my needs fine for now. Should be here in a couple of weeks. Thanks for your help.
