I appreciate the expertise offered here at AVS, and am looking for some guidance on how to accomplish what I am looking to do:

Objective: Stream lossless audio from my personal collection to my receivers (Pioneer VSX-21, Pioneer VSX-1021), by control through a touchpad device.

I am not limited to a certain codec (I will be re-ripping everything). I'd prefer to be cloud based; however, I have not found a solution for lossless audio via the cloud (maybe Amazon, but pricey?). I am happy to go local, I have extra pc's I can use, and stow in my equipment cabinet (right where both receivers are). I would also like to be able to use Pandora, etc. for parties that might prefer music other than what I can offer locally.

I do NOT want to be forced to have the TV on to make the selection, only the touchpad (iOS, or Android is fine with me).

Current equipment:
Living Room:
Pioneer VSX-21 (7.1 Channel)
Oppo BDP-83 (used for DLNA, but not happy about the integration, sloppy).
XBox 360
Motorola QIP-7216

Bed Room:
Pioneer VSX-1021 (only run a 2 channel system in bed room)
Motorola QIP-7216
RCA-out of Oppo BDP-83

Control devices:
Android - Motorola Droid 1 (no longer used for phone), Droid 3 (current).
Apple - iPhone 3G (jailbroke, no longer used for phone), iPhone 4 (current).

I am happy to spend what is necessary to get this accomplished, but Sonos type money is more than I would like to spend. Plan on buying a tablet to control my whole system via iRule (for iOS or Android), and want this to be the main selector of music.

Would really appreciate some quality input.

Hmm....that was easy. THANKS!

Now, just need to track down a deal!

I don't need a bridge and a connect, right, just the connect?

I'm going to best buy right now. I'll ask.

No bridge for me, since I can plug in to my network with the Connect. 10% rebate on any purchased direct from Sonos and free overnight shipping. Acivate rebate by signing up for Mr. Rebates.

Can't wait to play. Think I will encode everything to Apple Lossless, since I have an iPod, and will be getting an Apple TV for a different room.

Good to know you found what you wanted. I went to best buy but I wasn't able to find anyone who knew the answer to your question and I wasn't able to get my cell phone fixed even though I'm paying for insurance.

I am not a fan of Sonos since they use their own proprietary signal. I am more of an open source guy. Why not use Airplay?

JustBusiness,

Try searching "DLNA" on the App Store. Presume you could do the same search on Android Market. There are a few apps that will turn your device into a DLNA server and then you could stream directly from them (and presumably the tablet when you pick that up). (I'm assuming that your music is stored on the devices since you don't list a NAS, HTPC, home server or other storage device.)

Though it looks like you may already have solved your problem with Sonos now that I read the whole thread again ...

The connects are never on sale. The only "deal" I've ever really seen is 10% off on Crutchfield's outlet site for an open box.

The bridge is if you can't hardwire the connect into your network.
