No question it's going back. Rebooted again, after checking all power connections. Display fully on. Didn't wait a long time prior to turning off display to check if the display on was causing issue.
A few recommendations for Micca. Keep all your remotes exactly the same if you can. People with multiple units will appreciate this, not only because they can dupe remotes, but because the ergonomic interface is exactly the same. There is no reason to switch remotes here; at least none that I can dream up.
The 350 zoom feature is better than the 950 in that it allows you to adjust zoom by single percentages when choosing the x and y features. This is critical for some movies. It is not featured for the 950, which is a real shame. One only gets 1.1x, 1.2x, 1.3x, 1.4x. This is nice, but programming should bring back the 100% zoom with the right and left buttons to adjust be single percentage for horizontal or vertical image. Having many features that are non anamorphic, this is really important. If you can bring it to the 950 please do so.
Thanks. Sad to say, the 350 is a better player imho. At least it works properly.
The gigabit is nice, but it may only work well on lower bit rate BR discs over network, such as those under 25gb and even those with a total file size of about 16gb or up a bit. Reason is once you hit the bit rate too high, even with no network traffic, the unit may not keep up. This over power line network (which may be the problem on my end and not the unit's issue). One would think this would work better, however. For a 16gb m2ts file it seemed to play quite well. At about 23gb hiccups would occur.
I may just stick with another trusty 350. Good attempt on the 950 but what I received isn't ready for what I'd like to do over network and the reboot or shut down feature (yes, it's a feature) is quite ridiculous. Parts need to be implemented that are better than this for power supply, assuming this is the issue.
Double checked FW, latest version.
