thanks

Pivos will setup a page to take orders, it will be a simple ordering page where you put in the serial number number and payment info (should be paypal).
They are revamping the website and this will be added once they are done.

Does it support pgs subtitles, specifically in an mkv container?

Glow in the dark buttons, and WAY BETTER button placement.
Pivos will start an replacement initiative soon where customers only pay for shipping and handling to replace their "non-defective" old remotes (only one free replacement per box is allowed though).

Just to confirm (I couldn't understand how it would not be, but...) the IR codes all remain the same?

Just on the site, is this firmware (AIOS_PTGMCART35-US_3.0.1.7) substantially dfferent then the earlier versions? I have your R-17 non-official version with the improved home screen that has movie images on it.

Yup, its the same IR code set.
Semiofficial R19 is based on 3.0.1.7 so you can use that instead.
Official 3.4.3.0 is already out by the way, nothing much beside the reworked interface.

All of the Blu-ray discs I have watched only contained pgs subtitles.

I converted a small m2ts file, which contained only avc1 video , one English pgs subtitle track, and one DTS-HD 5.1 audio, to mkv. Using the latest semi-official firmware, I am able to display the pgs subtitle without a problem. I am able toggle the track on and off from the remote.

Glad I could help. I love the look of the Xtraios firmware but switched to the latest semi because the semi has to the option to display subtitles by default.

I have my files in an m2ts format to ensure maximum compatibility with other media players.

In my opinion Popbox V8 YAMJ / Eversion Jukebox is a lot better than the AIOS. I've got the AIOS, and I stopped using the jukebox since it was too much work for me to maintain the AIOS jukebox. I guess I got spoiled once I started using Zappiti for my Dune D1. It is just way too easy to use compared to ThumbGen / TVix jukebox.

I was thinking of selling my AIOS for $50 + $5 shipping. Anyone interested? It does plays all my M2TS and MKVs files without issues. Another plus thing that beats the Dune is that it will recognize force subs. I have to turn on the force subs in my Dune in order to get them.

I tried doing the eversion jukebox with my popbox but then I lose the ability to turn on subtitles, which was a big deal. I watch it a lot a night when my kids are sleeping and need to be able to keep it quiet.

I see. I've got wireless headphone that support 7.1 sound biggrin.gif, but I don't really use them much since my kids have soundproof ears whenever they are asleep.

Looks like the XIOS DS is already out. Other than the fact that it's a lot smaller than the AIOS (and offers SD card support over SATA HD) is there much difference between the two devices? Is there a separate thread for the XIOS?

Aasoror,

Do you think PIVOS will start building an AIOS with the 1186 chip for 3D support? Or are the rumors true about Realtek pulling out and not building anymore 1185 / 1186 chips?

While I don't know about Realtek phasing out 1185/1186, I know that Pivos doesn't have any plans to offer a 1186 based box.

Some users have been asking for the same thing at the Pivos Forums, without any input. I guess it isn't much of an update besides just making the UI better looking. Several user have been flashing back to the unofficial FW as well.

Its just a 5 minutes back and forth, and apparently no one has been keeping it long enough to get screen shots of it.

IMHO reason is, aside from the new GUI all the bugs and limitations are still there, in comparison the semiofficial firmware (which doesn't have the problematic interface any way) offers much richer experience end to end.

I am holding any semiofficial firmwares based on this till Pivos provides a more solid official release.
