Here is our situation:
Have two homes. We now pay Comcast for service in both incl. high speed internet in both. (Miami and Oakland). We have DVRs in both locations.
Could we cut the cable portion of the service in one location (Oakland) and make use of something like Slingbox? Is there a way to feed the incoming signal from computer to TV? (This, I guess, would only give me an SD picture at best.) Could I use something like Boxee to feed an HD signal to the "receiving" display screen (50" plasma)?
Is this setup/technology reliable enough to use in this way?
We only have component connection to plasma (6-7 years old Panny doesn't have HDMI).
Would the fact we have a Sony BD Player factor into the equation - maybe to pick up the "incoming" signal somehow like it does for Netflix, Pandora etc.?
