Hi,

I think you might be referring to the EP350 G2. I initially read your post wrong. The EP350 does not have 3D playback capability though it will playback SBS MKV and you can then use your TV to perform the necessary 3D function.

Jack, there is going to be a EP360 G2 as well?

Is this different than the EP600 G2 you mentioned previously? What is the status on that model?

I think it is a mistake to drop the EP600 from your 1185 line, as it has the less dated GUI than the EP250 G2 & EP350 G2. The EP600 also has the much nicer remote. If anything you should drop those older models from the 1185 line, and keep some version of the 600 series from HiMedia.

Thanks for your suggestions.

The EP250/EP350 G2 are going to stay with the 1185, as these would be the low-cost devices in the EP series.

The EP600 G2 with Realtek 1186 will be a superset of the features in the 1185 based EP600. Even if a user currently has no use for the 3D features of the EP600 G2, the faster processor does offer some additional advantages in terms of GUI snappiness, and network transfer speeds.

We are trying very hard to keep the EP250/EP350 G2 affordable.

I believe the 1185 has some very basic "support" for SBS 3D files - essentially the player plays back the SBS 3D file, oblivious to its 3D content, and you would use your TV to then display the SBS content in 3D mode.
