Have about fifty of my DVDs ripped tp mp4 format and stored in my iTunes media library, I am able to watch them on four devices (iPad, Sony ps3 using ps3 media center software, Panasonic Viera tv, and Xbox 360) recently my Xbox can not find the movies, I went to several forums and tried many fixes but none were successful and fixing the issue. I called Xbox support and they told me the 360 can not play movies inside the iTunes library (********, I have been doing it for a year, felt like I was talking to a seventeen year old idiot at bestbuy). Is there anyone out there using their 360 to play movies stored in their iTunes library, using WMC as the front end and not media browser.

Sorry, I can't help, but I have a similar set up and I"m wondering if that mp4 file would additionally play on an Apple TV.

My Specs:

Sony KDF55WF655 HDTV | Pioneer VSX1015TX Receiver | JBL SCS180SC 6.1 Surround Speakers | DirecTV HR20 | HTPC | PlayStation3

Use Serviio as the media server on your computer, it will transcode the video in real time if necessary so you don't need to convert.

The xbox 360 is a crappy media player, the flaky H.264 support is not uncommon, most often you have to re-download the mpeg-4 plugin pack as the drm on the pack gets screwed up.
