I would like to input a Dish ViP 722k into a Linksys router for viewing on a PC, laptop and possibly a Kindle. I realize that I would still need the Dish remote for changing the channels. I have Googled and found a few results, but I thought I would ask the "experts" for the best quality at a low cost.

Sling Adapter: $30. It even does HD if your hardware and bandwidth can handle it.

Edited to add: I haven't seen the Dish Remote Access app on the Kindle market, though it is on the broader Google Play market. DRA is free.

I was looking at this unit ("http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_broadway.html") that does similar but is costs more and can't change the channels. After hours of searching I don't know how I missed the Sling Adapter. One question though. When viewing on a computer on the local network, does it still send the signal over the internet?
