I'm not sure if this is best place to post this, so I apologize if not.

We live in a one floor condo, but it's pretty long. Of course the way it's wired means that the router (we have a Netgear WNDR3800) is either at one end or the other. I'm thinking of wiring it so I can mount it in the hallway to have a stronger range at both ends of the condo.

However, there is no way my better half will allow me to hang a router in the hallway as is.

I'm thinking building a small wooden frame covered in fabric and placing that around the mounted router. Any reason this is a bad idea?

That would be fine, they just don't like foot-thick wall or metal barriers.

OR

U could do what I did, stuff an N AP into an Airport Base station and you can mount that sucker upside down over the ceiling and it would look COOL!
