Subject: General Questions

Category: Submition

To Whom It May Concern:

I was wondering if you have an update as to the future of HDI Dune? I've noticed the stock keeps dropping and recently the prices went up for all the devices, which sincerely does not make sense unless. Dune has not made any hardware updates to any of its devices to explain such price increase.

I currently own a Dune D1, and I was interested in buying more Dune devices, but with the price increase, I won't be doing this. I was wondering if Dune plans to reduce its prices at all? When? If there is no price reduction or at least hardware update to were it warrants the price increase, I will be looking else where for the 4 other media players I need.

Thank you for any information regarding this issues.

Hello Gustavo,

While we understand if the price increases customers would like to see a hardware change, but that was not the case this time. There were many reasons for the price increase, but I can assure you greed was not one of them. The prices will not be going down, and I would imagine when the next generation of players is released, the prices will remain consistent.

All 864X series units, with the exception of the B1, are in stock in the USA and have been for quite some time. The B1 units went out of stock Tuesday, and the stock is due here today. I think that is quite reasonable.

Every month sales increase, and every month we reforecast our USA stocking levels. Keep in mind, when a sudden demands for inventory are not expected, and then they happen, it makes forecasting much more difficult.

Everyone has a right to purchase a product that fits their needs and price range. If the Dune is now outside of your range, I am sorry to hear that. We have a quality product that is FULLY licensed in every aspect. Most custom installers, like James, think the price point is now correct.

Thanks for your thoughts,

Michael Truppi

You realize that your email went to the us distributor, not to the maker of the product, right?

Dunes are very overpriced in comparison to other media players with later technology.
I have a himedia 900b and a dune.
I am now looking to other techs then dune because
1: no upto date players
2: no 3d

If other players get there before dune thats where my money will go and I will advise my friends the same

Dune has really dropped the ball updating their hardware
Its a pity the competition hasnt taken full advantage of this

My main wants
1 A player that plays flawlessly
2 A player that plays just about everything
3 Plays 3D
4 Has front slot for loading 3.5" hdd
5 Has very good cooling for the internal hdd
6 good support
7 good universal software for jukebox

The other media players have an excellent opportunity to make an excellent product and clean the floor with all that is out there

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken

I've email the maker of Dune numerous times, and I have not got a reply. So, I just started sending emails to everyone. So, far Michael Truppi is the only one who replied.

I left a comment on the HDI Dune's Facebook page, and I haven't received a reply to it either.

Lmao. Do you really think an email to the US distributor that you're not happy about the price increase will change their forecast or strategy that a European CEO made?

Out of the million units sold, I hardly think your email will have any effect on their decision. That's like sending an email to Steve Jobs (a year ago) stating that you own 1 iPad currently and want to buy 5 more but won't since it doesn't support iso file playback which the cheaper blackberry tablet does and they're priced too high.

If that is really true, they won't be looking to reduce prices but rather planning how to raise them further.

I'm starting to think that forums that brand a product as "hands-down best-in-class" and make it their default #1 recommendation, are their own worst enemy.

I don't think it is true since their stock has been dropping all the time. It just doesn't make sense to have their stock dropping, but their sales are increasing. It doesn't work that way in business.

Stocks don't always work hand in hand. Rim is a prefect example of this. Why it's so low, no one knows.

Rather than stock price, a review their quarterly report...
Konstantin Dyshlevoy is the CEO.
I found it a bit hard to find this information (in fact I didn't find it), and I'm new to this.
