This is all bit streaming with onkyo showing dts-ma as the input coming in

This also proves that not all bitstreaming is the same

we all assume it should be the same but now even the sound level meter says otherwise

I have sent this info on to both egreat and someone at Iconbit and told them to contact realtek and ask about this

in my comparison, you can positively hear a Bass Difference

Yes, it seems to break the very definition of bitstreaming.

Bitstreaming was meant to mean reading the audio stream from the source and passing it on unmolested. It appears that Realtek is somehow "molesting" the stream, and therefor shouldn't be calling it "bitstreaming".

It will be interesting if you get a response from Egreat and IconBit, but I doubt they will bother.

If I get a chance Again i will try to do a tone test through different frequencies and see what i come up with. From my viewing experience I never noticed and audio difference myself between the realtek and sigma chips, PQ yes there is a noticeable difference.

I'll be waiting patiently for the test result

people do not let this thread DIE ! it is now a reference around the web regarding realtek vs sigma on sound quality !!!!

What are your latest findings ???

i have kept reading on and on on other forums (spain, france, UK etc....) and FOUND NOTHING...
99% of people AFFIRM, that there is NO DIFFERENCE in audio or video.....on either Soc !

Hell the VXP on the PCH A400 is considered a backstep for some...while others claim it is AMAZING !

Have any of you done more comparaison ? i am specifically interested in Mede8er vs Dune/PCH..... or Zappiti for people living in France/belgium, UK

Mede8er are considered the best media players out there,....i was on the verge on getting one...until i read this THREAD !

i am seriously considering Zappiti now....or A-410...now that firmware is "ok"
