I dont know full specs as not my picture but the A400 had vxp enabled running, highlight enhancement and shadow enchantment set to full.

I would assume default brightness was set on both.

it's a 1080p mkv that is used for the test. Both PCH were set to default with the A400 vxp set to max :

This is a direct feed from the PCH, not a screen shot. Unfortunately it's resized to 720p (limitation of this kind of trick). Apparently you can make a direct feed snapshot from any PCH using this adress :
Code:
http://ip.of.pch:8008/system?arg0=capture_screen&arg1=/USB_DRIVE_path/test/file&arg2=1280&arg3=720

Ok. So the differences are related to the settings on the A400 which I would assume change the gamma curve at the low and high ends vs the other model which was putting out the image from the file without processing?

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence

yes, the difference is VXP ON for the A400 and no VXP at all for the C300. VXP is also said to have other picture enhancements (block/artifact/mosquito noise reduction, detail enhancement), but it seems that it's simply turned ON by default and can't be set to a defined value on the A400.

Just to add incase anyone wants to know that will work on 200/300/400 series. Strange thing is it shouldn't be limited to 720 arg2 and arg3 are the height and width. but been a long time since i used that command. Maybe popA100 just used my example I posted and did not know you could change the values

Hopefully we get control over more settings in the end. Same thing happened when I bought the nexius for the qdeo. There reference firmware that they showed at shows showed hundreds of options But when it finally came out there was not a single option to change for qdeo in the production firmware.

yes, I saw your post on the PCH.fr forum wink.gif I think that they understood the arg2/3 as they changed it to test. i will ask them if they really tried 1080p and failed or if they didn't catch the idea.

BTW you example ended with arg2=720&arg3=1080 and they changed it to arg2=1280&arg3=720, so they might have effectively tested a 1080p output...

they will do an extensive testing on a VP with large base this friday. they also received the iOS app for testing. FYI : the firmware they use seems to be a beta.
