I reallyt wanted Google's Nexus Q to be cool, instead it's just another—and not very good—media-extender.

Disappointed but can't say I'm surprised.

It's not enough, anymore, to simply sell us a piece of hardware/software. That's a one time source of income, which goes away until they come out with a new version. What they are looking for is a constant stream of revenue. Oh, they'll also get you with new versions.

Media streamers, like discussed here and what I have at home will never be more then a niche market. frown.gif

I think it is way overpriced but as I have been reading around it has already been hacked to run a game and GoogleTV was alluded to being available for it. I don't think it should be dismissed just yet as its only just been given to some developers yesterday. Give it time to grow into its own and see what comes of it.

This device might actually be a possibility after it is hacked for local media playback and a price drop. Realistically, thats a year away I'd say.Even if its hacked right away, its a year before anyone puts enough effort in it for a nice front end. Unless xbmc is running on it after a few weeks, I can only watch this one from a distance.
