Just starting to wrap my head around what components I'm leaning towards. I can't seem to nail down how the audio aspect would work. Just thinking about one zone...the living room now.
Needs to have/use:
5.1 Surround Sound for HTPC, cable box, and built in TV Netflix app(not sure if that makes an audio output difference).
Sonos to output streaming music from my Unraid server.
Xbox for gaming.
1. Do I simply wire everything to a receiver and that will manage the outputs? I've never even owned a receiver before so if this my missing piece I'll have to do some research before buying.
2. I would like to be able to play music when the video aspects of the room aren't in use(TV,HTPC,XBOX), but then switch off when I decide to watch a movie or play a game. Is the receiver smart enough to prioritize and cut off/switch to my higher priority audio? Do I need change the output channel on the receiver manually?
