I bricked my Micca EP600 G2 by installing Fantec firmware.
Fantec firmware contains bootloader, replaced Micca one.
I tried to install Micca Bootloader again but no luck.
All Micca or Himedia firmware I found don't contain boot loader.
Searched the net and found different ways , but none of them worked.
Micca support replied , "Unrecoverable device" we have nothing do. frown.gif

Here is my final exercise to have alive again:

  • Download Squashfs4_Diy_Win.
    Used for Packing/Unpacking Install.img
  • Download and install Measy X5 firmware (Measy_X5_v210_20120803).
It will replace -finally - Fantec boot loader.
Micca will work but remote control will not frown.gif
  • Use Packing/Unpacking Squahfs4 to unpack Measy Install.img
Unpacking will create Install Folder contains the packed firmware.
  • Rename "Install" folder to "Measy_Install"
  • Unpack Micca firmware (micca-ep950-ep600-g2-1.0.4.22)
Unpacking will create Install Folder contains the packed firmware.
  • Rename "Install" folder ("Micca_Install".
  • Unpack Micca Boot loader (EP950-EP600-G2-Bootloader-5505)
Unpacking will create Install Folder contains the packed firmware.
  • Rename "Install" folder to "Bootloader_Install".
  • Copy and replace all files from Micca_Install\package5 to Measy_Install/Package5
  • Copy and replace Bootloader_Install\Package5\Micca bootloader.tar to Measy_Install/package5
  • Rename "Measy_Install" to "Install".
  • Use Pack_Squashfs4 to uack all files,
    It will generate new "Install.img"

  • Install "Install.img" into Micca EP600 G2
Bootcode will be installed successfully. Micca Logo appears again smile.gif
    but it will not work.
Code:

Image type: bootloader
Image name: package5/bootloader.tar
command: mkdir -p /tmp/tar_file_tmp
In my system...
command: tar -O -xf /mnt/usbmounts/sda1/install.img package5/bootloader.tar | tar -xf - -C /tmp/tar_file_tmp

Finish
write bootcode success
#######[jh-debug] update_nand_xml(8375) install bootcode;
command: rm -rf /tmp/tar_file_tmp

  • Finally install Orignal Micca firmware (micca-ep950-ep600-g2-1.0.4.22) again.

Congratulations.

If you have dead Micca or Himedia, please try we may reduce the number of steps.
