Hi guys!

I have never owned a streaming or media box, now I am on the lookout for one - but I would like to have one that comes with a "mini keyboard" on the remote - like the Boxee - but I feel that the Boxee is past its prime - so what are other alternatives to the Boxee box with more power for like internet/Youtube 1080p???

cheers

an HTPC, there are no boxes thet do both duties like the Boxee does still....There are some that have minor apps, but in reality, the only way to get the functionality of Boxee is either Boxee or HTPC...Either that or go the 2 player route...

look and see if the device you're looking at has drivers for USB connection of a keyboard/mouse. that would open up something like a Lenovo N5902

well, I had a HTPC in my CRT projector days, but I really would like to get away from all the keyboard and mousing around - the tiny keyboard on the back of the Boxee boxes is very attractive - much better than using PS3 remote to spell in youtube app :-)

Hey, just a heads up....Boxee devs may have abandoned Boxee V1, but a group of guys are doing some pretty cool hacks with an auto-updater to boot. The latest version 1.3.1 allows you to customize the home screen.

Check it out here - http://boxeeplus.com/

PS. I've tried a few streamers and Boxee pretty much handles every file type you can throw at it.

Cool - I was sort of expecting this - that someone "takes over" - I am just wondering - is the CPU power of the Boxee outdated? e.g. does it handle 1080p h264 files proporly with 50-60fps - I can make 1080p50fps mp4 files from my camcorder -

Is You Tube 1080p supported?
