Would like to update my old HDMI LG set to be able to wirelessly connect to my home network for browsing and for watching movies stored on my NAS.
The LG ST600 sounds right, but is getting some pretty poor reviews, especially for lack of Flash support which would make browsing a pain!
Any one using one?

Don't bother with the ST600 just get a WDTV Live if you want to play media.

If you want something with a web browser look at the Vizio Co-Star or Hisense Pulse which are GoogleTV boxes. You wont find up to date Flash support on anything, Flash embedded is dead and on it's way out on the desktop though it will take a few more years on that.

Thanks for reply ALX. Already have a WDTV on bedroom TV. Good for playing media, but wanted browsing facility for main tv room, and WD does not have that.
Visio Co-Star getting a lot of bad reviews - see amazon - so I might check out the Hisense if I can get a European supplier.
Cheers!!

The Hisense Pulse is a USA box, you can get it on Amazon.com, there is some confusion as it seems the Pulse was originally intended for Europe who only have the expensive Sony GoogleTV available but the Pulse is available in America.

However the Pulse is probably not much different from the Co-Star, the only other option would be an AndroidTV box which uses the tablet OS it's more awkward to use but you do have access to the full Android app store unlike GoogleTV so some websites which have apps might work. You really need a mouse and keyboard with AndroidTV devices as well.

I agree with the suggestion of an Android TV box for the full Internet experience on your old "dumb" LG.

Here's one from France that includes Skype, a webcam and a keyboard/mouse remote:

By the way - Just heard back from Hisense. The Pulse is not available in Europe, and does not support PAL format. No indication from them of any future plans in this regard.
