Hi everyone,

I would appreciate any suggestions in helping me brainstorm a setup that would work. My goal is to have numerous flat screen TVs posted around coffee shops, colleges, restaurants, etc. Ads would be sold and would loop on these TVs that are placed around town. I would run everything from a central computer/server and could update content to these TVs from the computer. The ads would run still images, if video could be possible that'd be great!

I am new to this type of streaming so any ideas would be mucky appreciated! Cheers!

Have you talked to the business owners to confirm they'd want your mini-billboards all over their property? That's your starting point, not the technical question.

Tech-wise, I'd drop a dirt-cheap rock-bottom-end fanless, SSD-based (no-moving-parts) PC at each location zip-tied to the TV's wall-mount and wired to a broadband connection, and have a dead-simple custom app drive the TV by pulling down content. Easy.

Depending on cost and so on, you might even make it more of a no-brainer by going with some sort of wireless broadband setup.
