I use my unraid server to house a massive library of DVD movies that i rip. I have it connected to a gigabit switch that is hooked to a ASUS n900 router. I also have a HTPC wired to the same switch and router

The speeds when doing file transfers are typically between 20-30 MB/s but when i choose to transfer more than one file to two different folders thing slow down significantly.

Also i noticed when i was converting a ripped DVD to MKV it takes about 5 min when reading from and then writing back to the server location. When i did the same file to a drive located directly on my HTPC it was done in less than a minute. I use MakeMKV. (Side note but i noticed since i upgraded to v.5 makemkv has failed on multiple occassions when converting a file.

What could cause this?

Go to You will need to post a system log, hardware being use and which version of unRaid you are using. They should be able to help you out. There could be more than one variable causing this issue.
