It is already very clear that the Sony Google Media Player NSZGS7 does not support DTS but I was questioning my self If at least it will be capable of pass it to a capable hdmi device like a receiver. Do any of you own this and has tested that?

I have and it's converted to PCM. Bitstream does not pass through. Both DTS and DTS MA

Also be aware that Dolby Digital Plus is converted to just Dolby Digital.

I gave up with the gs7 and the google tv platform. Too much of a hobby.

Thanks for your answer, just let make me sure I understood. You are saying that is actually supported but it is transcoded to dolby and it is not possible to just pass it to a home theater receiver via an hdmi direct connection. Is that?. Do you play videos with the default app or with plex? Dont you think that making some changes to output sound settings you can enable the pass through? I dont really know, just asking

DTS and DTS MA input to gs7 over HDMI gets converted to PCM multi channel to reciever

Dolby digital plus input to gs7 over HDMI gets converted to Dolby digital bitstream to receiver

The gs7 doesn't support internal playback of any DTS audio files. Period.

Why did I give up? Because the user interface is a train wreck. It's simply a hobby that has so many shortcomings its not worth the effort. It doesn't do anything well. Streaming is poor. Local file playback is poor. TV integration is redundant ..... So what am I left with ?? Search .... ? Ok, but its kind of crippled and execution is clunky.
