Apparently not, at least for the 3d models.

Do you guys leave it at the default auto or BT601 or 709?
FYI, all my movies are MKV.

if it's 1080p there's no difference as it's always using AUTO for HD content, even if you set it to 601 or 709. So the best thing is to put it in 709 (601 in reality) so SD gets the correct color space and HD will always be Auto anyway (nothing to do to change this apparently). At least this is working like that on my smart.

I am wondering if anyone is having similar problems with their Base 3D.
I am getting slight freezing every minute or so while watching Alien tonite.
I then tried Alien on my Base 3.0 and everything was smooth and no freezing.
I am using B8 firmware on both and the exact same settings for video.
The Base 3.0 also plays smoother.
The settings on both machines are:

Video Mode--1080p 24hz
Aspect--Auto
Auto Framerate--24/50/60hz
Hdmi Color Depth--8 Bit
HDMI CEC--Disabled
Output Colorspace--Auto
Default Decoder Colorspace--Auto

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken

My friend told me that his player is not playing most of 3d movies in 3d. Is there any option that need to set for the player to recognize 3d and play in 3d?

Same player works fine with Samsung tv but not with jvc projector. it could be projector problem or communication problem. Appreciate help.

Is anyone using "Dune Flash Interface" for their movie covers and scraping?

I'm using yadis but thinking of changing to the above as I have just had a play and it awesome with interactive menus and a lot more details.

I used DFI 1.5. UI is really nice and reasonably fast on my SMART (should be even faster on a 3D model). But i stopped using it because Fet75 (creator of DFI) stopped updating it to concentrate on DFI 2.0 and last time I tried it the new TMDB API was still not updated, so it was impossible to scrape movies. Also the customization is quite low, you have 3 or 4 different ways of displaying your collection (which are very nice) but the backdrop are not customizable because it's flash...

I also had many problems for the scrape at the beginning, only 50% of my movies were correctly matched while yadis was around 80/90%.

I tried DFI 2.0, it's much better, scraping is highly improved, UI is similar but a bit faster than 1.5 and there are more options added. But it's not free anymore and it's a bit complicated to pay for it if you're not russian...

Thanks for the feedback, I did not see an option to purchase it. But scraping ty data I found quite poor but I am thinking my regular expression is not setup correct.

Shame as the flash based menu do look really good.

Thanks

For anyone using the b8 firmware, do you still get the "Audio track 1 of 1: DTS HD MA" popup with mkv files without using ScottJ's patch?

Is it working for you? I am not using b8 but I had one user using the forced subs patch who reported that it worked after install but only until the first standby. I would expect the audio track patch to have the same problem.

Patch doesn't work with the latest firmware. I had to roll it back. Forced subs patch didn't work either.

Ok, guys, please point me in the right direction. DuneHD Base 3D is connected via HDMI to Onkyo TX-NR626. Which audio settings i want to have the best sound of this DuneHD unit?

Original Bitstream or PCM?

Do I need to install multichannel patch?

I noticed that with PCM my center channel does not output sound when I watch Kartina.TV. Other than that the sound seems to be fine. The receiver reports that it gets PCM...

Original bit stream since your Onkyo supports.

Scott,

Any chance you have plans to update the mkv forced subtitles patch on the dune for B8?  At the moment, I get an error message for when trying to install the patch on b8 on the Dune Smart D1.  Thanks for your efforts on this.

There is nothing in B8 that interests me, so I wasn't planning to upgrade my own Dune. Also I heard that B8 has some problems with the IP Control feature, which I use extensively.

Since it's possible to downgrade the firmware easily, perhaps I could upgrade to B8, fix the issues, then downgrade back. I'd like to keep it working but I don't know when I'll have time for this. It could take a while.

Your problem sounds different than the others I've heard, where it works fine until the first standby, and then stops working. What exactly does the error message say?

When I try to excecute the dsf file, it says "Executing" briefly then a box pops up that says "Error" with an ok button.  That's it.  This is after a hard reset.  I've also tried running the uninstall dsf as well and it just says that the original file is not installed (was trying to see if it partially installed).  This is on a Dune Smart D1 with the most recent b8 firmware.  I doesn't give me any explanation regarding the nature of the error.  Bummer.
