fwiw, it does the freeze-unfreeze after pausing for as little as 3 seconds. Actually, its just annoying is all. (installed WD 320 Gig drive, 'green' I think)

When to press 0? When? While watching movie? This does not work for me.

I plugged in a usb keyboard for entering WPA (?) security code, worked fine, are there other 'keyboard' functions available?

They (dune), have only the online instructions, which fall short for me. Tech support is, "if you cant say anything good, dont say anything at all"

Hi all. I just picked up a Base 3D and am liking it so far but I'm having an issue with MKV file's audio dropping out for a second or so while playing off an internal HD connected by HDMI to the TV (no receiver). It doesn't happen a lot, like once an hour of playback, but it's annoying. I've gleaned that some firmware is better than others and I'm running FW 140223_0132_b6.

Edit: Audio in the MKV is AC3/EAC3

Is there consensus on the "best" firmware to have installed?

I've upgraded from a Popcorn Hour A110 and never had that kind of issue.

Also, is it normal for the blue power indicator light on the left to blink and turn off during playback?

Hi

I have few questions.

1) Can someone help me to with sleep timer function? How can I activate it? How it work? My 303D never sleep automatically. I have latest beta version, but same problem wit latest final version of firmware.

2) Can I move to next/previous file in directory? I know, that this is possible, If i press play and create playlist, but it is slow. My previous old Xtreamer Pro have this function.

3) Can I open list of latest opened movies after power on?

4) Is possible to set Dune to stay on latest played movie in directory? Now, if I press play (and generate playlist) and watch 10 movies (parts of series) and press stop, cursor is on first file, so I don't know, where I stop watching.

Thanks.

Hello,

I have a question about subtitles

I have problems with changing the size of rips made with MakeMKV. The size does not change as it does with .srt files.

I really wish that there was a way so that all subtitles could be presented similar, in size and location.

Anyone know a tip on how to fix that?

Can anyone comment on 1080i playback? I have a few movies that have been encoded in 1080i AVC that are impossible to watch with XBMC or Mediabrowser. I can provide test files.

1080i BBC Planet Earth bluray's seemed to work fine for me on my older dune (H1).

About $40.00. For me the real time scanning and jukebox update is worth it. I emailed them through the contact info on their website and got a fast respone along with a PayPal link.

Thanks. I may look into it. I am deciding if I want to stick with Dunes or go back to HTPC.

FWIW, I'm going back to dunes from my htpc. The eye candy on the htpc is nice, but I just keep running into one stupid playback issue after another.

I'll give you that. Playback is pretty much flawless on the Dunes. But networking on the Dunes, especially with Windows 7, can be a tad difficult. Easy to set up but security updates sometimes change the permissions and registry to disable proper networking. I have even gone as far as NOT updating W7 to prevent those security updates from screwing up my registry.

I stopped using windows for file services a long time ago for that very reason.

Hello all. I have a Popcorn Hour A200 in my living room and I'm considering adding a Dune product to my bedroom. Is there a consensus on the most STABLE/RELIABLE Dune product? I ask this as my kids can operate the A200 but is is slow in the movie wall. This newer Dune would look great in my setup, but there appears to be many issues...I have been out of the network streaming arena for a while...figured this thread may be up to date. Or might I be better off with a newer model Popcorn Hour?

Thanks to anyone for their time,

Robert

MKV writing libraries my TV-303D likes clearly most libebml 0.79 + libmatroska 0.8.1. In practise, MKVmerge 3.2.0. 4+ years old version, I know. But in practice completely issue-free and most Dune -compatible MKV-making workhorse.

In my testing, MakeMKV made MKVs have had frequent audio drop-out issues with DTS-HD Master Audio. There is definetely something Dune-uncompatible in its mkv writing. Also newer MKVmerge versions have had (rare) video stuttering issues. So, if most robust playback and best possible Dune -experience is what you are after, stick on MKVmerge 3.2.0 when it comes making watching material for your Dune.

I use the lates MakeMKV with no issues. I'm using a d1 though.

Ok, nice to know they have got their set working. How many issue-free -mkvs playback experience you have with it? MakeMKVs version history tells that its newest version is 1.8.11 and has rolled out 16.6.2014. Five weeks ago, in other words. You can say with confidence that you have tested it issue free only in so short time??

By the way. I use MakeMKV too, but routinely rerun its output files going to be fed to Dune with MKVmerge 3.2.0. I have about one year and about +100 mkvs testing history with that duo, high video bitrate (+20 Mbps) directly from BD -extracted stuff with HD multichannel audio. In that time, the combination has never failed.
My test set is HDMI connected Yamaha AVR, LG TV and mkv-files from local usb-disk or SMB-file share from NAS in gigabit local network. Both playback file storage methods have worked equally good i.e. flawless. Dune has had never issues in its network-playback. 3D playback I have not tested, though.

So I've been testing out jukeboxes for my Dune, one is Dune Flash Interface 2. I'm REALLY impressed with it. It's fast, offers a lot more interaction than Yadis and Zappiti, support movie box sets, has a pretty full featured jukebox editor.

The one thing about 10muse that is critical, the name of your movie has to match the name of the folder. So for example, Frozen (2013).mkv has to be in a folder named Frozen (2013). If you do this, 10muse's scraper works perfectly.

I have around 1200 movies, the other scrapers that use TMDB are accurate within about 40 movies or so.
