I have three devices that can play multi-channel audio and would like to be able to archive my DVD-A discs so that these devices could play them via my network.

Is there any way to do this and preserve the audio quality? Is there any place I can find a good step by step instructions to get into the mix of this all? I would prefer flac file format if that is any help.

Devices - Dune 3 Base, Oppo Bdp 103, XBMC on Mac Mini

Hopefully someone out there also archives their DVD-A discs and can lend a hand. Thanks in advance.

DVD Audio Extractor can rip DVD Audio discs and convert to another lossless format, such as FLAC. It is a paid program but you can try it out (and rip discs) for free. It can also rip the True HD tracks of Blu-ray discs.

FLAC is perfectly fine, MLP is rarely supported by players. Both are similar forms of lossless compression. FLAC also gives you the option of using tags, including artwork.

DVDAExplorer is free and works great.
