Hi! I was running TVersity in the past to stream to all my PS3's and I notice now that they charge you to use it. Has anyone found a good free replacement that works in the same way?

I use the streaming function of the DIVX player. Streams my 1080p 5.1 DTS MKV files (to Samsung TVs) and 1080p 2 channel mp4 files(to XBOXs) with out a problem.

Plex!

Not only can you stream all of your local content but the amount of web content it provides through channels is incredible. They also have mobile apps for iOS and Android (possibly others) and one for Google TV. The mobile apps cost but the server and ability to get this content to your PS3 does not.

I switched from tversity recently.

I switched to ps3mediaserver.

www.ps3mediaserver.org/‎

It was very easy to set up and works great.

Belying it's name, it works well with xbox 360 and many other media players.

Serviio, TVMobili and Mezzmo are all better options than Tversity or PS3 media server at least for local media (avi/mp4/mkv) playback.

Serviio is also free, there is a pro version but none of the features in the pro version are absolutely necessary. There are also lots of plugins on Serviio forum to access content from websites.
