Hi all,

System:
The system below is done via a wired network for better connectivity and playback of movies.
  • Synology 413 NAS
  • WD TV Live Streaming Media Player

I have a bunch of movies & tv series, each movie and tv series is in its own folder with the respective .mkv Movie & TV file.

What I would like to know is there a program which will automatically download the Movie & TV information (metadata such as; description, actors etc.) and put that information in the folders, which can be viewed using WD TV streaming media player?

Is sickbeard compatible with WDTV Live metadata ? no idea one way or the other but if it's not then no I dont know of anything else that runs on the NAS which will give you that.

The only other way I know of would be to install Plex server on the Synology but that means replacing your media player to get all the visual stuff from Plex.

The WD will do the metadata on the NAS if you add to the media library. Or you can do the metadata manually...

How do I go about getting the WD to add metadata for 200+ movies to my NAS automatically?

- bit of a noob

I've done all that - but it says "Scanning for content information", and it comes back with an error saying it cannot retrieve from online database.

Any thoughts on this? Do the folders or files need to be named in a special way for it to download the content

I would name the files as close as possible to how they are named on themoviedb.org where the WD pulls it's metadata from
