I have a NAS (running unRAID server) that I use for all my 1080p mkv local streaming to two Popcorn Hour boxes (A200 & A110) for years, and it's worked well.

Now I want to ideally move to a solution that accomplishes the same, but has a nice slick GUI for music streaming & video streaming.

I had thought that if I picked up a PS4/XBone, I could supplant one of my Popcorn Hour boxes but I've learned recently that at launch neither of these boxes can perform this function.
It's unfortunate, as I wanted an allinone box that I can game on (albeit, not a huge focus for me) and I also need a bluray player as I don't have one in my HT room yet, as was waiting for these consoles.

Is it true that these consoles can't stream like this locally?

If so, then what is my next best option. I'm thinking Roku 3 and separate dedicated bluray player.
Or, should I just keep my Popcorn Hour and get a dedicated bluray player (most cost effective).

About the Roku 3, I am invested into the Apple ecosystem moreso regarding devices (iphones, ipads), but not so much in regards to iTunes media purchases. I'm not leaning towards APTV3 because I bleieve it won't do the mkv local streaming from my NAS like the Roku3 will. IS that true?

Anyways, any advice about where I'm at to make the best decision would be much appreciated.
