Picture quality is what matters for me most. I will be watching movies on a 100" projection screen from 15 ft away.

Well, as with anyone that's looking to purchase anything and has a couple of options, I think you're best bet is going to be to do a bit of research.

Here is a review on the Dune.

http://www.goodgearguide.com.au/search/?search=kdlinks

Here is a video of what the Dune LOOKS like.

I didn't find a decent unbiased review on the KDLinks. However I did find a decent youtube review to give you just a good overview of the video.

So, as always, choose what you think is best for you. Of course, as with technology, improvements are always going to be made. In this day and age, I don't think that the hardware for playback is going to affect picture quality as much as how you present your media to the hardware. At least for the next few years. If you are going to be using 3d iso files, then i don't think it really matters too much what you are using for those iso files. If you are going to be using .mkv or .mp4 Half Side by Side for you 3d or at least some of them, then you will need to make sure that your video is encoded properly.

Pretty much the same falls for any normal bluray you use as well.

I have an Epson 6010 projector projecting 110" diagonal image, I can see no difference between a Bluray in my Oppo BDP-93 player and via the KDLinks HD720, both look outstanding... And DTS-HD MA all intact to my Denon A/V receiver 4311.

Hi friends.

I have a KDLinlks HD 680 and HD 720 but I don't know how to connect to my PC-Network. I have already set up the network and shared the directories that I want to share.

I can "see" my Workgroup in the Network, but it keep asking for login and password.....sometimes DNS Gateway and DNS Ip... which I have already inserted but the login fails....

Can NE1 help me?

Thanks!

Have you tried to email Eric from the email link off of the KDLinks website? He's pretty fast at replying and I'm sure he can give you some info for your specific device.

Hello, I love my 700 but recently movies began freezing and i get an I/O error. It happens on any drive(via wired network) that it plays from, 720p files. Any ideas on a fix? Thanks!

I think I found an issue with the 1.2 firmware: the volume of multichannel LPCM tracks is greatly reduced. I noticed the same issue with Underworld and Pirates of the Caribbean. Would someone else please test this to confirm? Thanks.

HOW do you access the recycle bin when you delete a file from the unit itself?
solsen's Avatar solsen 11:07 PM 06-08-2014

I have the exact same issue with MKV files.  I can fast-forward, but not rewind.  I just installed v.1.3 and still having the same issue.

(this is in reply to post #47)

I then tried it on an m2ts file and both FF and REW worked. Anyone else have any MKVs from DVDs they can try REW on?

I have a quick question about movie info that can be downloaded off internet - Is this feature available only in HD720 or in HD700 as well.

I can't get it working on HD700; when I click 'menu' button on any movie file, i can't get 'Get More info' option in the menu.

Am I missing something here.

I was create one topic and i ask these questions:

01. Play all 2d and 3d movie files like m2ts, mkv(Even 3d side by side or top - bottom), bd-iso, ts e.t.c.
02. Play FULL BLURAY MENU and not the lite that has many media players of one complete bluray movie rip into one bd-iso file
03. All sounds like dts-hd, dts, truehd, ac3 and can downconvert it into simle stereo for a 3dtv or simple tv
04. It has ethernet port so i can stream movie files e.t.c. from my windows7 laptop without dlna program

I want to cost 200 dollars even it is used.
Does this media player do any of these things?

Not sure about 3d.
2. No streamer on the market currently in production will support full blu ray menu.
3. Yes
4. Yes

Why all of you quote post even if your answer is exactly next from that you answer?

That's the way it should be done, that way everyone knows whom they are responding to and someone else could submit a post and then the response will not end up right after. It's the internet, how is one supposed to know if someone else posted before they submitted their post?

Is there any modified or hacked firmware for the 720?

Not that I know of. You can try looking at the other players that use the same chipset/firmware like the Medi8er players. They have a pretty strong cult following. I am sure they have dev kits or people that have hacked those units. Might work on the kdlinks.

Does anyone has the pioneer bdp-150 with custom firmware to tell me if it can play bd-iso or bluray folder movies with menu?

No i believe this is completely useless if the response you make is exactly bellow of the post you answer so WHY the use of quote???
The post you answer is above the answer so......

If you see that your post it isn't bellow of the answer then you make an edit of your post and add the quote is so simple.

I guess everyone who uses quotes are stupid. It's dumb to have to go back and add the quote, makes no sense.

~~The chipset solution is the latest in 2014, and nobody used it yet. It's much better than the old Rockchip RK3188 chipset solution, esp for the hardware decoding ability. This solution can well support most DVD and BD quality ISO playback, including 3D. so I contacted rockchip to see if the had a chip that exceeded the rk3188 that was recently released that was not used yet well heres the link they sent me http://rk3288.com/
Release date is may

this is the latest

I just ordered. I hope like crazy that the 10/100 ethernet is a misprint and it's 10/100/1000. It's a step backwards from the 720 if there is no gigabit ethernet.

Just ordered as well with next day delivery for $3.99. So the KDLINKS A200 is android. I am hoping for firmware hacks/mods galore. But I do not see it on Kdlinks website.
Southernsorrow 04:54 PM 07-14-2014
I was looking to order a KD HD720 from amazon to pair with a 2tb WD Black. But now I Think I'll wait a couple days and see how you guys like the new A-200

hopefully it'll have true 1080p firmware and not 720p like the vast majority of droid boxes already avail to buy.

I just ordered it and should be here tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think. Might be putting my HD720 up for sale.

How can the A200 be released without support on the website?
So far I have been using a ssd in my hd media players but it looks as if the A200 will only accept 3.5inch hdds.

I thought the Dune players (Max & Smart D1's) were still shipping with full Blu-Ray menu support?

I think they r all discontinued. There might be some really high end dunes but very expensive. They throw around "blu ray lite" but thats not the same thing. Full bd menu requires java and players dont include it anymore.
