Another what is best thread. Sorry. I'm thinking Roku but in search found threads on WD, Apple TV, Popcorn, etc. Also Black Friday disclosures show Sony BR player for same neighborhood price, $40-$80. I have PS3 in other video room and I know BR players have good streaming support. I have good internet connection, 25mb+. Basically I want to stream Amazon Prime movies and tv. I'm Netflix BR customer but cancelled streaming because of lack of recent movies. Has it been established which of above boxes has best picture? That is my major criteria by far.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Jack

If you want Amazon Prime forget the AppleTV.

FWIW, I have both the Sony BDP-S5100 and the Roku 3. IMHO,

Roku advantage: user interface (slightly cleaner, faster, smoother, etc.)

BDP Advantage: includes disc player

In casual viewing, I can't tell the difference in video quality between the two using wired connections (60Mbps cable internet) . YMMV.

Roku 3. Very nice. Even plays network hosted media through PLEX. Very intuitive, Low power consumption, Nice looking UI.
