So I have a couple of the PCH C-200's to play my ripped Blu-rays discs as MKV. I just have too many buffering problems with the c-200 anymore. Looking for opinions on best alternative.

Here is my setup, I am running a Mac Mini with two Drobo 5D both attached via Thunderbolt. I am sharing via NFS, but could use SMB or UPnP if needed. All of my house wiring and switching is gigabit. So throughput of the server is no problem.

All of the media I play are MKV's made from my BD discs with either DTS-MA or DD TrueHD audio. I don't re-encode, just wrap them in the MKV container. I don't care if it has an advanced GUI. I have an AppleTV on each TV for that. I just want a solid player for stream those MKVs.

I've seen the A-400, but a little leery of a new PCH box after the issues I've had with the C-200. As for the Dune and Mede8er, I'm a little confused between all the models. Are there any of other devices out them I should look at?

ANY input to this discussion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

I use WDTV SMP to stream untouched(no compression) BD video with DTS-MA and TrueHD also warapped in MKV from my Synology 1812+ w/o any issues.

I highly recommend the A400... I have 2 on them (C200 too) and they play all my MKVs perfectly with HD audio... They also play all my 3D BD ISOs...

My only issue with wdtv smp was the lack of dts-ma passthru, which was resolved with the last update.

Have you had any problem with them since? I have played two DTS-MA movies without an issue.
