sony 4k fmp-x10 question

will i need to have that tablet to control the new sony fmp-x10 media player? i know it comes with a remote but i didnt know if its like the first gen and will need that xperia tablet. thanks

Also, I can't find anything on the model number of the remote RMT-D304. If it is IR great, if it is bluetooth not so great.

Given PS4 is not compatible with previous PS3 Bluetooth bridges for integration in home automation, etc., I'm hoping that they went IR with this box. Otherwise it may be worth waiting to see if they offer the same 4K capability from PS4 eventually.

Remote is IR, but you don't need to use it, as you can control the 4K player from the compatible Sony TV set (via HDMI)
At least, that's how it works with the XBR 70X850B's we have here at the office...
