Need help picking media player to replace PS3 for video files

Looking at :
WD TV Media Player (WDBYMN0000NBK-HESN)

WD TV Live Media Player

KDLinks KD700

Just need the ability to play various file types "preferably without stupid cinavia warnings" and I'm NOT worried about streaming features too much or online video services like netflix , hulu etc.etc. I just use ps4 or xbox 1 for those. I just need to play movie and video files from USB drives and/or 1 and 2tb USB hard drives on HDTV's through hdmi. I Was using a ps3 slim for years which I liked as it upscaled the image quality some vs playing the file straightout through tv's usb port until my electricity went on and off rapidly in a power storm and it killed ps3 :-\

90% of my files are movie or tv show files downloaded from here and there *wink* and usually in mp4 format. Also have my own blu-rays ripped to watch on my various devices without carrying around discs
