Anyone using Sling with an xbox one? Does the remote work with this app, or just the game controller?

FYI, the Sling App on the Xbox One S works with the media remote, very nice. And the PQ is good too.

Giving up on Sling TV for now. Due to the work AT&T is doing in my neighborhood, my once steady internet connection is now erratic. I may revisit it if my connection becomes stable again.

Hi,

After enabling the option "zoom to fill screen", all HD and SD channels screen would out-scale the TV scrren. Does anyone have this sort of issue on Fire TV2 ?

Gave up on Sling. So many times popular shows would just glitch. Switched to Vue and very happy. I might give Sling another view at some point.

I love it, but I am using the Roku Ultra and have no issues. The Xbox S app is buggy as hell.

I too switched from Directv to Sling using Roku Ultra and never have a glitch or anything. I'm actually surprised the TV has been looking as if I never made the switch. Very happy. Bought another Roku Premier+ for the other TV as well...

Watched the video on Directv Now, doesnt look like anything different from Sling, and they wont have a cloud DVR until some time next year. Pricing is pretty good, but once again, nothing to make me swap. I also dont think the Roku will have an app on launch on 11/30.

A lot of that you can still find on Hulu, and the channel websites. ESPN is the exception.

It should not affect me. The way I cut the cord, I really only need recording on a couple of obscure channels like Nat Geo, A&E, Discovery, for example.

Sling app got an update today on the Xbox one S, just downloaded it. Not sure what it does, hopefully it fixes some of the bugs. App is still much slower than the Roku Ultra version.

Try rebooting it, I've had have channels disappear from Sling on occasion, some sort of server weirdness. Restarting the device has always worked.

I have tried that and also tried the app on the Mac, confirmed that the channel was still missing. I had emailed sling support to no avail.

Are you a fan of the ACC Conference or do you just love great college sports? We have good news for you! Sling TV has now added the digital ad hoc television network to their lineup. Now the ACC Network is not a 24/7 network but it shows a wide range of ACC games. (If you remember the old ESPN Extra deals this is very similar.)
Currently the ACC Network airs their games on a long list of local channels in many different markets but now you can use Sling TV to watch the ACC Network no matter what part of the United States you live in.

Yes, an e-mail. I almost didn't see it because g-mail routed it to the promotions section and not primary. But I did one of my periodic searches and surprise there it was.

Now using Sling TV with First Look (cloud DVR) on my Fire TV box. The DVR records (or does it just hold a pointer to the server content?) quite well, offering most of the management functions required. Lack of a two-week guide restricts requesting future programs more than about 5 days out (DirecTV offers 14 days). Selecting which program of a series needs rework...but all in all, we are very pleased.

I'm just not satisfied with video quality of my Sling TV on Windows 10.
I have a very, very fast PC. Without spyware or other crap.
And I have a 100Mb cable Internet connection.

My SlingTV shows 5+Mb connection with ESPN which looks about 95% as good as HD from cable TV.
But most other channels, such as BeIN are 4.5Mbps and more like 90% as good as HD from cable TV.

I have a stable connection most of the time.
Once in a while I'll see everything look pixelated, then go back to HD "quality".

Just super disappointed.
On 60" Samsung LCD TV.

I guess I was expecting cable HD quality and didn't expect that some channels would be "almost there" and other channels would be "not even close".
Also did not expect the occasional up and down visibile quality changes.

But, I do like the Sling TV app. It's a little clunky, but if all the channels were 95% HD quality then I might consider sticking around.

PQ for Sling through a Roku Premiere+ on LG OLED55-C7P vs. side-by-side satellite DirecTV on similar TV (identical model with identical settings) seems superior. No ringing or processing artifacts on Sling; DirecTV is duller and has motion problems. PQ for OTA through Tablo vs. internal tuner is more problematic. These subjective observations require NaCl in quantity, but I am more than satisfied with PQ on SlingTV; we dumped DirecTV satellite, saving about $110 per month.
BTW, buy me a pint and I'll tell you why we own two identical TVs.

Ah, you've a large sports bar you've built in your basement ? You'll need at least two identical TV's.

As a person who uses both Sling TV and Direct TV Now I can say it's not your connection, it's their servers, your high speed internet won't help their servers. It's one reason streamed internet TV may not be as good as cable for a lot of people, with cable you're not using adaptive streaming, your video is coming off a private network. Ditto with satellite. Most channels other than ESPN will top out under 4.8 Mbps with Sling. Then there is the 60 vs 30 frames per second problem you see with internet streaming. Live TV streaming services are still in their infancy.
