ONLY if i un-tick all 4 acceleration modes that the movie work...but has AV sync issues ! so not a solution

What should i DO ? i tried to change skins, delete cache, reboot, put frame rate change to "always" etc...nothing works, be it SD, HD or 4K ! i tested AVI, MKV, MP4 and XVID....always same ISSUE

ps: all tests were done with no AVR just to be sure....

i am desperate here, don't panic however as most owners are using vidon just fine...so must be something on my end
as no one could help i will answer myself i managed to make everything REWORK again, after erasing VIDON and make it clean again; in fact the problem was in audio settings; i changed something about 44Hz vs 192hz sample rate and nothing worked !
hope this helps future buyers

Actually their internal player is quite good and surprisingly Egreat does seem to support its customers .

I have a HTPC with i5 6600K Nvidia 1080 GPU quiet low ripple PSU using PowerDVD 16 and the Egreat A5 (with shunt regulated PSU) I have is actually better in picture quality and virtually on par in Audio .

you're going to need to back that statement up. i gave reasons why it's terrible; you need to give reasons why it's "good". and again, i'm only referring to the user interface (jukebox). i agree that the playback quality is quite good (with a few hiccups).

The user interface is good browsing and navigating is easy and simple and how many views of a jukebox do you really want
it has two views list and jukebox view which are visually nice and poster scraping works fine definitely not a bare bones player .

I have absolutely no hiccups with playback so far (if you would like to explain the hiccups you speak of feel free to instead of unjustifiably bagging out a unit that does in fact virtually all that was advertised including the well published photos of the the GUI and Jukebox browsing menu)

This is an android media player and the functions it does have are well above par of your comments .

The main reason people buy this unit is its ability to play Blu-ray ISO/BDMV movies with functioning Blu-ray menu not a flashing lights bells and whistles Jukebox player I suggest you do more research before purchasing a player that fits your flashing lights bells and whistles jukebox criteria .

lol, calm down bud, no need to make it personal. i did plenty of research. i got this one, like you say, specifically for its ability to play 3D/ISOs, and playback quality. since that's my highest priority, i was willing to accept a less polished jukebox. i don't regret my purchase. i'm just stating matter-of-fact that their egreat jukebox is not good. it's easily the worst out of all the ones i've tried. so i only use their player when watching 3D movies. for everything else (TV, 2D), i use something else.

hiccups are pretty rare. but just about every movie i play will experience a few audio dropouts and slight video judder. not a big deal. that's why i described them as "hiccups", which is nowhere near "unjustifiably bagging out".

Well you read this topic...the box uses hisilicon v200..and you read the reviews.. right?
Very good pq just jack reacher2 and cloverfield lane..that look extremely good. Just make sure your tv is not crap.
Sd could be better...in my book but is very watchable.
Hdr for those who tested seems amazing...
The best thing about the player is that we can talk to devs directly..and they do take into consideration our demands too.

This is not personnel as now a more accurate and honest opinion has been given than before yes it does have its faults but not as an actual player or either a basic jukebox it is quite well polished and when it does have issues Egreat does seem to address these issues which is quite rare for a Chinese company of such stature .

Again in my opinion it can keep up with a well decked out HTPC running PowerDVD 16 (which I thought in itself was quite impressive) in picture and sound quality which really is quite impressive for such a player (people should try it with a Linear power supply preferably a shunt regulated one)

I think you have buffer streaming issues as my A5 does not have those hiccups the only movie it has streaming issues with is Bram Stokas Dracula remastered in 4K which might be a filing issue on my behalf .

Well guys I see a lot talk since I posted...
It's been around 1 week since I received this machine. My earlier feelings were not quite good So I waited a little bit to see if that would change.
And I am pleased to report that after a couple of tweaking this machine is really good !

1) Great quality video and audio

2) Local HDD working as advertised

3) Local Netwotk working like a charm !

3) Build quality

4) Play everthing throwed at it

5) Media Player from EGREAT is really awesome !

6) Great forum for users feedback

What I would like to see or fix :

1) Image Previews of photos or videos when using EGREAT player

2) Fix missing infos with some files when choosing INFOS in the menu when playing files

3) create a submenu with the photos when choosing them with all the details relative to these photos ( resolution, bit depht, camera used, date, etc )

4) Better scrapper for the poster function ( make better category listing and the ability to modify the category of a file that doesnt belong to the pre-selected categories )
In word, if I have a file that is not a IMDB film or tv serie, put it in another categorie ( Another) and let the technical details available to see with a picture preview like KODI does.

5) Fixe or delete the internal app that is supposed to CLEAN the junk files because it does absolutely nothing ! This app doesnt clean at all. It even displays it like '0 byte cleaned'

welcome back @Wireless Hd

some of what you ask is already done internally by egreat. I much prefer vidon with a new skin as it looks much nicer and more customizable; if it works in your machine...just try rapier skin ! too bad it was too slow on mine and had to settle on the great eminence...that i changed with new backgrounds and colors

point #5 was already seen by other member, so i decided to add that to the bugs and see what egreat says; the new update should be on OTA around END of JUNE, it has been delayed as considered non satisfactory by their R&D team.

Hello all,

Happy owner of the egreat A10/A5, i allow myself to put my opinion on the Egreat devices.

I am not an expert, I give my impressions as a lambda user.

My movie collection is in 1080p, and I use UHD demo for 4K tests.

------------------------------

My equipment :

Sony 65X930C (HDMI enhanced)
Onkyo 656 (4k/hdcp 2.2/HDR)
Cable Monster Ultra HD Platinum
Focal dome 5.1.2
NAS personal cloud / SMB
HDD WD Red 3TO
Wired Gigabit Ethernet

------------------------------

I present to you the new Egreat A10, which is the flagship of Egreatworld company.

unboxing

the A10 is in a small suitcase

the multimedia player is well protected

Usual cables are there

the user guide and a Quality Control card

The user guide is printed in color

------------------------------

The casing

It is a black aluminum casing with good finishes

I am very impressed by the quality.

that's just my opinion but for me the egreat A10 is a premium product

the front panel rotates to access the internal Hard drive

------------------------------

input/output

The A10 has all the inputs and output which you need

------------------------------

the HDD installation is quick and simple

The HDD is quickly recognized by the A10

for your information : the a10 recognizes the hard drive NTFS/GPT format and up 8TO

------------------------------

the remote is good qualities, the keys are backlit,

the keys are rubber and all functions are available on the front panel

the user guide for the remote

------------------------------

My settings

------------------------------

There is an option for the display to shut off when the movie starts and goes back on when the movie ends. (only functional with the Egreat TV.)

------------------------------

AutoScan Network

Autoscan NFS/SMB finds all my devices in my network in 2 seconds. All works properly.

------------------------------

to be continued...

You have options to manage the internal fan :

By default the fan is on SMART

You can choose between 3 options : SMART, CUSTOMIZE, OFF

With the option CUSTOMIZE, you can choose the operating temperature of the fan

------------------------

The Egreat A10 boots up in just under 26 seconds, in my humble opinion it's excellent.

------------------------

I did some tests with Demo UHD and UHD HDR.

------------------------

My parameters :

------------------------

DEMYSTIFYING 4K, UHD BLU RAY, WIDE COLOR GAMUT, HDR, 4:4:4, 18GBPS AND THE REST!

http://www.acousticfrontiers.com/uhd-101-v2/

------------------------

UHD/HDR 23.976

UHD/HDR 24P

UHD HDR 29.970

UHD/HDR 59.940

to be continued

Hello all,

My Egreat A10 is in place in the cabinet, after having had the zidoo X8/9s and the Himedia Q10 pro, the egreat is my main video player.

And a video to show you the interactive blu ray menu with the Egreat A5/10 :

see you

Hello All,

Picture Quality

The picture quality is excellent after some adjustments.

I turn off the imprex processing engine V2

and i choose Display mode : Sport

the picture with Egreat Tv and Vidon xbmc is free of video noise it allows me to increase the sharpness contrary to Zidoo which has a lot of video noise after making a comparative.

I used the following TV Sony settings :

Nettete: 60/ Reality Creation: 35

I also change the contrast and color on my TV.

The settings fit with my tastes.

see you

Hello All,

My equipment :

Sony 65X930C
Onkyo TX-NR656
Egreat A10
Focal Dome 7.1/5.1.2
NAS Seagate personal cloud / SMB
Wired Gigabit Ethernet

-------------------------

I tested 4 UHD movies this evening (only UHD full rip BDMV).

Everything works, nothing to report for now but it seems to me that the Blu-ray menu was more smooth with the FW 1.1.2.0, it is just my opinion.

Note:
As everyone knows, the inferno movie has an Atmos soundtracks problem, but the Atmos soundtracks of the smurfs 2 and La La Land works properly with the Egreat.
I do not know if the problem comes from the egreat or not

No problem with La La Land and Patriot Day and the HDR aspect ratio bug.

There are 2 videos available in my thread "Egreat A10..."Quick review" on forum Egreat :
(Sorry about the bad video quality, i used an old camera)

Olivier,

So are you saying that there are full rips of some 4K UHD discs "out there", and they play with full menus on this new(ish) eGreat?

What about BD-ISO support? I have that in my old Dune HD Pro, and am loathe to give it up ... (but I want a 4K player now).

(BTW, I did not know the TX-NR656 had full Dolby Vision/HDR10 support, since it is a year old now and it's last year's model.)

Yes absolutely,

What about BD-ISO support?

About ISO BD and ISO BD 3D, everything works but there is a bug with the region's selection on the egreat.

i have about 40 iso movies, and there is 1 movie with a blu-ray menu problem due to the region's selection bug on Egreat, no problem with all my other ISO BD movies

I read the entire post thread last night.

English must not be your primary language, sometimes when we say "So you mean to tell me ... " it is not that we haven't read it, it's just that we are surprised so we need someone to re-confirm what was said as we can't believe it

I used to use an eGreat EG-M31B before I got my Dune HD Max, it was a good little player for its time ... but there were some problems and the firmware stopped getting upgrades, and people complained that there was no support since it seemed like the company was just slapping a Sigma chip into their plastic box and depending on the Sigma people to fix everything. So when I read of the capabilities of the A10 and people are saying there is great support, my first reaction is ...

Question...
If using kodi (not vidon), can we still get...

- hd audio pass thru
-iso playback
-3d frame packed playback (mkv or iso)
-4k hdr (don't care about menus)

I have the himedia q10pro at moment, but always looking for a new media player...
Thanks

Thanks for all the info on the A10. I just got a new TCL Roku TV with HDR and Dolby Vision. I have lots of movies stored on my hard drives including some UHD. So I'm looking for a new media player to replace a Dune B1.

My question is, do you think the A10 is working well enough with 4k resolution and with HDR? I see there remain a few bugs. I have read around and see a new model is just announced. Do you know when the new model will be avail? Dolby Vision is something I would want to have and I think the Egreat is stating it will come via FW update any word on that?

thanks
Dave

Hello muad'dib,

I also have the Q10 pro, You can find messages from me on the futeko forum about q10 pro, but I do not use it for quite a long time

For the moment if we want to enjoy all the features of Egreat, we must use vidon or their player.

The ideal would be that egreat uses the same system as himedia and zidoo, Their external player with original kodi, it is just my opinion

But I will be honest, their scrapper / player "poster v2.0" is really effective and works very well, it is not yet perfect but the egreat team works hard to make it even better, since the version "POSTER 2.0, I no longer use vidon.

see you

@muad'dib

all these functions don't exist on official kodi...(maybe hd audio recently does...not sure lol); so NO...
but with vidon you have all of these so...just change the skin and voila you have a beautiful specified kodi

@dbrons
4k HDR still has the aspect ratio bug ! that IS an issue (read about it...) DV support is not something clear, as DOLBY is not selling the license to media players ! if they do...my guess is that egreat will be the only player to support it...as the soc is compatible

new models A11/12 and 13 should be around in septembre...as summer holidays are upon us...and don't think they will release them. Are they worth it ? YES if price is right as they are 90% identical to older models...same soc, same bugs

will you 2 be getting an egreat soon ?

Hello Dave,

I chose the following parameters and I have no any problems.

2160p30HZ / YcBcR 4.4.4 10Bit / HDR Auto or ON

or

2160p60Hz / YcBcR 4.2.0 10Bit / HDR Auto or ON

Fix HDR aspect ratio bug : The problem is present with some UHD movies (no real rip UHD, they have been using hdfury) of the Russian team.

----------------------

I found this on the forum egreat about Dolby vision :

at least HiSilicon3798CV200 supports dolby vision, we are also waiting for Dolby's update
Dolby Vision licensing are not give(yet) to digital media player, only digital blu-ray disk player or TV get it.

----------------------

Yes but not for now, if I am not wrong they are pre-production model.

A sneak-peek at the new A11, A12 and A13 models (and H10 splitter)

This is a sneak-peek as the announcement is for the Chinese market only. It is not an announcement for Europe and detailed specs may change.

Are these ISO's d/l'ed from the 'Net or are they ripped from your own BD's?

(I am curious to know about the scraper)
