Redirects to a Russian host page that says account suspended. Hope this isn't a bad sign.

I'm seeing that as well. Hoping it's an outage or another billing issue like halfelite said.
Did quite a few searches on news / blogs and came up empty handed. So nothing yet. I guess we will wait and see.

If anyone needs a temp key for MakeMKV, this one should be good into September 2017:

Erp. Yeah, hope that's just temporary. I was noticing the other day that they hadn't put out an update in a while (Alien:Covenant didn't rip correctly), so I was already getting a little worried.

I had no problem ripping Alien Covenant with the current version.

If you're truly distraught over the loss of this service, and the website/service is down because the bill is late/unpayed.... and you really like the software and have been using it awhile, if it does end up coming back online and working again, there is always the option to speak with your wallet and chip in "for services rendered", such that you won't need a temporary key anymore... sort of as a way of "supporting the cause".

I wouldn't mind paying for the program... it has always been in beta phase so do they take donations over paypal? How do you get permanent key for it? I would love to support it as long as I can.

Already did. It was the loss of the forums I was distraught over as it can be helpful finding the right title to rip or overcoming errors.

There's a google doc that a user here on AVS forums kinda keeps up to date that I've always referred to. I have the link handy/short-cutted on my home PC. If you don't have that, I'll try to send it to you when I get home.

halfelite is exactly right. If you buy the permanent key, you don't need to wait for him to post the "freebie" on the boards every month.

I used the program, for free, getting the codes from the forums every month, for probably 2 full years before finally paying. I'm like everyone else; not made of money, and definitely appreciated the fact that he provided an awesome piece of software, and let us use it (relatively un-nerfed) for free. But, after awhile I decided that my use/appreciation for his work was such that it merited dropping the $$$.

Purely a personal decision. I wouldn't think less of anyone that currently can't or won't. But if you use it as much as I do, and really like it like I do, just something to consider, as it really would suck if he stopped developing for it. The best way to make that happen is to support the effort, IMO.

I'd like the link as well if possible. BTW, I bought a lifetime key years ago. So much easier than searching for updated free keys. And the program is great.

If the key isn't up on the forum, just wait a week or two. Sometimes the MakeMKV guys get annoyed by the pirates and delay the release of the key. It's been happening a lot lately so if MakeMKV is essential, it might be better to just pay for a permanent key.

Everyone should just pay for a key... If you use that often, buy it already. Freeloaders doesn't help the developers... They should just do away with the temporary keys...
