Can the audio request display cover art? I really want to show the album cover as the track is playing. So far, it seems the best way to do this is with a mechanical cd changer (sony) and a slink-e interface using cdj software. I would much rather have an mp3 player like request..but I just gotta have that cover art!
Can't it display graphics that you upload to it? Are you saying you can't have it display a certain image for a 'group' or 'folder' of mp3s? Seems like an easy way around that copyright thing.
That's unfortunate that you run into copyright issues, when software programs can seemingly display cover art that is embedded into the ID3 tag without any problem. Since the user actually has to supply the cover art, I would think that the copyright issue would not be Audio Request's burden to bear...
Currently, I'm using a convoluted setup with MusicMatch Jukebox, a dual-head Matrox video card on my PC, and X-10's MP3-Anywhere to have on-screen displays of cover art, track info, and plug-ins on my entertainment system. The sound isn't bad, the video is so-so, but from what I've seen, it looks like the Audio Request has better visuals, and it should produce better sound than my current setup.
It is nice to have the cover art and full track information shown on the TV, which makes a standard CD changer antiquated in comparison.
Is the copyright issue one of the AR device tagging the MP3 with cover art? Or does this come into play even when I just want to show whatever cover art I might have associated with my MP3's that I encode on my PC?
So, just to be sure I understand the cover art issue...
Is the following statement true or false?
The ARQ currently does not display any cover art, even if it's supplied with the ID3 tag of the MP3 it's playing (as encoded by another device other than the ARQ).
