AudioReQuest Software Version 1.2.6 Now Available
The next version of the AudioReQuest firmware (1.2.6) is now available. Just press the software update button on our ARQ windows software and be sure you are connected to the Internet and your AudioReQuest will be updated automatically to this latest version. If you want an update CD to be sent to you please send a request for one at info@request.com.
These are the following enhancements and fixes in the software:
Enhancements
Volume Lock: Allows the user to lock the ARQ's volume at a certain level (so the volume button doesn't work anymore). This is to maintain consistent volume levels when listening to the ARQ. In Menu, go to Settings, Volume Lock. If you enable the lock, it will keep the volume at the current level. If you disable it, the ARQ will act as it did in the past. Default volume lock is DISABLED.
Discrete On/Off codes: We added this much wanted and needed feature to the ARQ. It was mainly added for the users that want discrete on/off macros for their home stereo setups. When the ARQ is off, Alt-P (~) on the remote control will discretely power it on. When it is on, Alt-Q ( http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif will discretely power it off.
NOTE: When in an edit window, Alt-Q will produce the colon ':' and NOT power off. It is suggested that if you are recording a macro for discrete off, record a Cancel button press AND the Alt-Q press as the code. This way it will cancel out any mode it is currently in, then power off.
Fixes
Skip/Pop fix: We have added a fairly important fix that should eliminate almost every skip or pop in audio. You might still hear them when transitioning into Visuals or Themes, but otherwise they should be eliminated.
Fixed a bug where in 1.2.5 boot times were increased due to a check. That check is now only performed during a software update.
