According to DViCo, the only changes were the added language support. I suspect that the other "improvements" are due to unrelated user serendipity.

EDIT: After slogging through that MPC thread, I see that there are many issues reported with the 1.3.42 prerelease (several of which DViCo was aware, which was why they didn't recommend that anyone aside from those needing Chinese/Rumanian support try it) and IIUC the network "improvement" is actually just that it got back to where it was in the previous production-release firmware. Still not recommended.

sorry for the missing informations. but my english is not that good I have tryied all firmware to the synology and the M6500, and they all do the same, but now I know what the problem is: the danish language contains Æ, Ø , Å. It can easely show Æ,Ø,Å on the screen(TV), but as soon as I try to open a folder or view video-clips that contains Æ,Ø,Å, I get kicket back to the rootfolder.

The HD5000 did not have theese problems with Æ,Ø,Å letters in the Danish language.
TPeterson, Do you know if there is any one that you could direct me to with my problem with Æ,Ø,Å letters in the danish language,?

manpete:
SMB connections very fast on the M6500.. No problems at all
you asked: How deep are your subdirectories? (How many levels deep).
max 4 folders..

I must say that I do NOt regret bying my M6500! Because the streaming from the synology-server is great, the HD-streaming in any format(.TS .MKV etc..) are running super, in many of them i can preview and fast forward and that is pretty cool

Thanks for the clarifications. Your best bet for getting fixes into future firmwares is to register on the TViX MyQ&A Forum and post questions and suggestions there.

I'd like to create shortcuts (symlinks or hard links) between my internal tvix drive and 2 usb connected drives. Has anyone done this? Or for that matter, does anyone know if it should work?

Hi ppl,

Can you please tell me if the 6500 can read iso from BluRay ?
I tried to play one iso from Casino Royale (+- 50Gb)and it didn`t recognize the file but i could play it in my laptop with Bsplayer. Could it be something i did wrong? Or it simply can´t?

Thanks a lot

The M-6500A currently does not play BR ISO files.

Damn, and my Deluxe Crystal Ball is currently in the shop to be re-calibrated... The Republican VP announcement caused it to blow a few circuits...

So TP, you haven't heard any rumors anywhere that Tvix has any intention of supporting BR-ISO once they iron out all their other issues? (wow, them would eat up HD space quick!)

The M-6500A already plays both H.264 and MPEG-2 1080p files. Ergo, I conclude that getting it to play BR ISO files (and BR discs in networked readers) is a software issue. But (when) will DViCo tackle that issue? I dunno.

I sincerely hope that they don't tackle that until after they've finally fixed trick play on HDTV transport streams so that this box can be sold to Joe&Jane Couchpotato and really go gold. I don't think that they realize just how much money they're leaving on the table.

A new version of TViXiE is available at http://www.tvixie.com/

New in version 0.9.4
- Fixed: IMDB movie info provider has been re-written to use regex instead, should work alot better now.
- Added: DVD Profiler 3.x is now supported, export your movie collection to the same directory as tvixie.exe and name the file DVDProfilerExport.xml
- Fixed: If only one movie is returned from selected provider(s) it's now being automatically selected in the "Select Title" window
- Added: You can now change template without requesting new movie data, just right-click on a movie folder and choose "Set Template->Template Name"

Excellent work!!!

Just a question: can I change the text file (movie description) in order to add my comments?

Hey guys I just bought the 6500A. I've tried putting a password one of my folders (i.e. Video) but it doesn't seem to work, you can still access the folder without inputting the password.
Do you know how I can fix this problem?

Blu-Ray: Likely to be added in 2009 (add-on cost) or DvICo might choose to
release another player just for the BD support (the 6500 does not have the
good name... with all its issues and lacking fw dev)

New firmware will be beta end of this monet (few days to go)

1. Purple color problem when using HDMI.
2. 24Hz picture shift problem.
3. Set Auto BCS in 24Hz as an option.
4. DVD with no menu crash problem
5. Slide show with fade in-out transition.

and other fixes...

Enjoy

The manual (d/l'd from the Tvix site) is a little vague on playlists (as it is on lots of things). My question is this...
If I prepare a .M3U playlist file on my PC the contents of that list will have pointers to the location of the tracks on the PC. I want to d/l that list to the M6500 and use it to play the same tracks on the internal HDD of the M6500. Since the folder structure I have is the same on the PC as it is on the M6500, other than the letter of the root disk, can I simply edit the playlist to reflect the root disk of the M6500 ? If yes, is that root C: ?

Hi all,
I received my tvix m 6500 a v2 today.
But I can't have it to work =(((

Please help!!

I have a WRT54G linksys router with the lastest firmware i've found and my notebook is on the wireless lan.
Tvix is trought cable connected to the router.
Tvix can find the folders but when I put to play the file it stays on loading.
I think it's maybe a router problem!!
Please somebody give me a light =((

Try it with your notebook (or whatever is the file server) connected via a wire instead of wireless and get that working first. Then you can go back to trying wireless if you must.

Is it the case that any DVD which has been ripped into IFO/VOB or ISO with no menu will cause a crash ? Or have I mis-understood ?
