Sony's 11-inch XEL-1 OLED TV, launched in late 2007 was the 1st commercially available OLED display & offers superior image quality to LCDs & plasmas including a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

Despite the fact that Sony came out with the first OLED set for sale, I am still skeptical about this.

Maybe I am just jaded, but haven't we seen the "Impending Launch" of things that were to never be before? SED comes to mind here along with several other ideas that seemed to just quietly disappear.
