Overall, it's just a very well thought out product that I highly recommend.

When I originally ordered the stand, I was planning on buying an 80-90" set. I wasn't happy with any of the TVs in that size, so I ended up buying a 70" Sharp Elite instead. With the 82" stand, I'll be ready to easily upgrade to something larger in the future. smile.gif

Looks great! Bet it'd make my 58" look tiny.

Where is the temp sensor for the fans located? I'm having a similiar stand made and was wondering where it was routed to.

The sensor has a wire attached to it. You place it where you need it. Usually on top of a device with vents, so when the thing heats up the fans will run.

Thanks, I had thought about that too. I'll place it on top of my hottest piece of equipment.

I'll post some pics when its done also. The guy that is building it for me builds a lot of the custom furniture, chairs, bar stools, bars, etc... for a lot of high end restaurants near the beaches.

So all I can say is wow, Im thoroughly impressed with this company so far. I just ordered the 82" Haven in Cinnamon on Hard Maple. I called them and spoke with them as I had some questions, and they offered free shipping, a free glass shelf, and included both clear and tinted glass in the delivery just for me to make up my mind. I cant wait until it gets here. I'll make sure to post pics next week, as that's kind of the purpose of this thread.

Very impressed with both my Haven 72" console I bought a few months ago as well as the company. We were having a problem with the tinted glass not playing well with our cable remote, and I called fully prepared to buy a set of the clear glass for the doors.

Nope, they were extremely helpful and sent me out a set free of charge that day. Simply awesome customer service.

I purchased the 72 Haven in June and absolutely love this piece.I contemplated a made in China console that I would have to build myself to put new system in.Well worth the extra money for a quality piece of furniture.Everybody compliments it when they see it,more importantly WAF is high .All in all a well thought out piece of furniture.

I have a question regarding component cooling. I was looking at new AV Receivers and Onkyo wants 8" space top & side clearance. Denon wants 12" top, side & back. That means adding 12" to the height of 6" Denon which means a shelf spacing of 18". Adding 12" to each side of a typical 18" component means you need a 42" wide shelf. I guess you could find a wide TV stand/console that has only a bottom shelf & devote the unit to holding just an AVR, & TV of course. But I don't see that happening in real life.

Is there a concern about overheating when using a Standout stand/console or anything similar? Do a lot of people use a cooling fan? If so any recommendations?

Then again, SD probably doesn't want to deal with the onerous terms of dealing with Best Buy.

Merry Christmas !

As of this week, Best Buy is offering select AV consoles by Standout Designs. Still solid wood, still made in USA, same product that is available through our web store, same quality. Best Buy has been great to work with.

I am considering the 82 Haven but I am torn between the Maple vs Oak. I am curious what others have purchased and if you have had second thoughts on going with the other option. Also, I am thinking of the tinted glass. Has anyone going with the clear glass and regretted it because their AV equipment is too distracting with the lights off?

I don't have the Haven, I have the Horizon but I'm very glad I got it with the dark glass because everything has a million LEDs on it these days. My cable modem, cable box, etc., all has very bright blue LEDs these days. You can read them perfectly through the dark glass. I can't imagine how bright it would be with the clear glass.

About to become a new owner of a 72" Haven Cinnamon on Hard Maple. Already impressed with customer service. Soon after I placed my online order I noticed I had made an error and indicated I wanted the clear door glass and not the tinted. Even though it is a Sunday, within less than 30 minutes after I emailed them I had a response indicating they would be sure to include the tinted glass. Talk about impressed! I was torn which one to get, and have some concerns about the height of the Haven at 26", however, after much measuring I think it will be just right.

By the way, they are running a 15% off sale with free shipping through tomorrow, March 24. Saved use just short of $400! Very sweet. Guess it is time to replace the 61" DLP with that 75" or 80" LED I have been drooling over smile.gifbiggrin.gif

My 72" Haven arrived yesterday. Placed order on Sunday and have it home in southwest Missouri by Friday. I am glad I paid the extra for white glove delivery as some one else got the pleasure of carrying the heavy beast to the basement media room.

No pictures yet. I have to say it is every bit as nice as everyone here has reported. Beautiful wood! It was packed very well and only required installation of the glass panels in the door, the glass shelves and hooking up of the fans. New TV arrives Wednesday. After that I hope to get some pics. Never dreamed I would spend that kind of money on a "TV stand" but am so glad I did. It is truly a piece of fine furniture I expect to enjoy for a very long time!

Standout Design 72" Haven Cinnamon on Hard Maple

My 72" Haven Cinnamon on Hard Maple awaiting the new Samsung UN75F8000. Very pleased with the stand. Spent time last night setting up the gear. While running all the cabling I kept thinking how well designed the whole piece of furniture really is from top to bottom. It is a beautiful stand and I am so pleased I took the plunge.

I have to say I am so impressed with this 72" Haven stand. Truly the highest quality furniture I have owned, and I have paid up to $5,0000 for other peices, but love this more. The design is perfect, the automatic fans are so quiet you never know they are on, and the whole thing is really built to the highest standard. Not to mention that this was one of the very few stands that could fit my really large Vandersteen VCC-5 center channel.

Really impressed with their support as well.

Also, they swaped out the cloth screens instead of glass for no extra charge which was nice. Shipped all the way across country to California for very reasonable shipping charge. Highly recommend Standout Designs to anyone on the fence.

Just a heads up that Standout Designs is having an "In Stock" sale with some really great prices on several of their stands. If you have been considering buying, now may be the time to pull the trigger!
