We're on the road to 4K LCD where all the models from all the companies look exactly the same.

New World Order TV!

yeah...Big Foot, The Loch Ness Monster, and a new world order of LCD clones. Take your pick.

Using Artificial Life algorithms, I created a bunch of creatures and let them evolve on my system. Over the years they gained intelligence, a society, and quite a few interesting abilities. However, using the rules from their world, they concluded that I did not exist. So I created a special creature meant to spread the Word about Me with amazing magical abilities that only He had. Went well, until they decided to nail the poor Guy to a tree.

One really has to be psychotic and out of touch with reality to revel in LCD at a video enthusiast forum.

I hear you on that, but if true, there are more possibilities for the reasons for it.  It might be because the schlock-weeding isn't caught up yet to the audience's distaste for it, or also because the audience is still feeling burned by the last 3 schlock 3D films they saw.  Perhaps it's wishful thinking, but I believe that once the playing field becomes fully weeded out, the public will have a better gut reaction to it.

I just hope this business of clumsy post conversion goes away.  Ideally films that have 3D as a goal should be shot with 3 cameras on a mount, or at the very least 2.

Maybe if they showed LCD in 3-D on plasmas and OLEDS then everyone would be able to realize how bad it is!

I still enjoy 3D. I bought a little 32" 3D LCD to watch YouTube 3D vids (and as a computer monitor) so I wouldn't waste the projector bulb. For 3D the larger the screen the better the 3D effect. If not for gaming in 3D I wouldn't bother with it. I seldom watch movie and only 3D (no cartoons) because I already had it for gaming. Game Devs could make all games Native 3D so there wouldn't be any technology killing patent wars or monopoly grabs. As far as Sports in 3D, it has to be something closeup to work that's why only the swimming/diving were in 3D at last summer Olympics (which were FREE OTA for England and Australia). The other outdoor winter Olympics looked good enough almost if not better than 3D. Pop-Out is for 1st timers, a gimmick to get you past the flat 3D.
