So I have a dog that's young and half cattle dog(which he needs to run)
I also have a golf cart, so I'll drive around the neighborhood and he runs by me, chasing the local deer
I waited till dark last night to run him, after watching the oled
My lights wouldn't work in the cart, so I was driving in the dark
I actually was thinking how good the cr is in real life, then realized my thought process was backwards and that the oled replicates blacks so well, it's almost life like
Stupid story, I know, but the thought actually occurred

Is it time to send out a search party for Vegas OLED? I'm officially declaring him MIA.

How about that 5x10!

If you look at the two pictures he posted from the 9800 & 9300, I'd suspect that most of the differences we're seeing in the pictures is an exposure difference from the camera. It's very apparent the 9800 picture is a brighter, almost washed out camera exposure than the 9300 shot. Just look at the room surrounding the display, forget the display.

I'm not saying there's no differences in the display, but again it shows how pictures can be very deceiving.

yes sir
2 different sets, 2 different sets of settings, one is calibrated, one isnt
cant wait for a real review on the 9300 and how it differs from the 9800
and im not anti 9300 at all, in fact, if there are issues with the 9800 down the line, i will be getting one via replacement
im pro oled, regardless of manufacturer or model

any owners willing to chime in with some feedback in regards to the following reported issues and if they are apparent with their set?

-DSE = none
-Banding = none
-DNR = Im too much of a rookie to even know what to look for, although, i can say that the image is very crisp
-Motion issues = issues i have are with scrolling text at the bottom of channel(espn, ccn, etc) judders randomly, i rewind to see if i can replicate it and it seems to happen at different intervals, software related? no issues with movies or games
-Gray screen uniformity and or it showing on content = the right and left hand sides appear darker than the middle, in addition, i can see the back panel on dark gray slides, in content, i was able to see this by staring at the right hand side of the screen and waiting for consistent enough content to come on, which showed a differences in shade. fortunantly, i do not watch tv like that and content varies enough to where i dont see it while watching the shows/movie
-Abl = none that pops out to me
-Dead pixels = 2 blue, out of box, no more
-IR/burn in = a couple of times, i didnt notice lb lines that seemed to be a ghosting, no long term ir or burn in to report
and any other issues you may have noticed?

this isnt a knock on the 9800, only a consolidation of issues to date
thanks for the feedback

How I can access the service menu?

Hi,

you dont need to enter in the service menui to know the tv's hours.

You need to go to Customer Menu. There is an option there that displays the hours.

Carpantata are those pictures fairly accurate. I'm not obsessive about uniformity but yours looks pretty bad.

My local best buy has the display for $2200 and it does have "PC rated" burned in. It has to be burn in b.c the demo with that logo has not been on it for a few months. You cannot see it with content though.. Just slides.

Sorry to burst your bubble but:

F8500 Native 0.01200 cd/m2
F8500 Boost 0.00600 cd/m2
65VT60/ZT60 0.00446 cd/m2
Kuro 9 G 0.00336 cd/m2
Kuro 9.5G 0.00168 cd/m2
Tuned 9.5G 0.00060 cd/m2

It should be no problem to be annoyed by the mll of the F8500 in dark scenes sitting in a black cave.

There's no way the MC price was an error. Further proof, the 9800 is $2199 in the Fry's labor day sale right now. They pay the tax promotion applies, so in CA that's basically a wash with MCs price.

Is that correct?

Turrican, sorry to burst your bubble, but the above doesn't bother me in the least. Did you read the part where I said "I could be wrong"? It's water under the bridge and all the units you listed are not available today with the exception of the F8500 for a short time longer.

I'm not bothered in the least by my F8500s MLLs in dark scenes in a dark cave. Yes, I can easily see the superior MLLs of OLEDs vs either my F8500 or my last Kuro 151, but it doesn't mean I'm 'bothered' by my F8500's blacks. Just a silly statement.

So try to burst someone else's bubble, no luck here.

Just left Fry's with a brand new in box for $2199 and no tax. I actually did get a 2 year warranty for $200 that will cover burn in.

I will probably be pretty carless with it since it would lead to a new model if burn in does occur.

Had a few people come over to watch some football over the weekend. Even some segments of SuperBowl 48 on DVR.
Stunning. I could tell the picture and clarity was immersing people into staring.
Turn off the lights for the halftime show... I got goosebumps from the black levels and contrast. The fireworks were especially awesome with the colors popping over the black night sky.

Funny thing is that no one even notices the curve until they come up close to the set. I don't even notice it anymore.
Don't know why the big fuss about not buying an OLED just because it's (very slightly) curved. It's not really a distraction watching content.

Just a few minor complaints. Screen is too reflective so any bright light can be distracting.

How the hell do you take fingerprint smudges out ? Everyone keeps touching the damn screen and microfiber cloth with water is not doing the trick.

Have you actually read the extended warranty yourself? I wouldn't trust a salesman on something like that because they frequently exaggerate to sell you the policy. Burn-in coverage is very rare because they treat it as abuse - not a defect. Deal pixel coverage is also rare. I've only seen these things covered by BestBuy's very expensive performance warranty or some accident protection warranties.
