I am waiting for the results of the shootout. The reviewers comments on red and informed calibration are questionable. If a color is undersaturated it can't be fixed unless the mode setting (e.g. THX) is causing the problem. Going on to say the gamut can go beyond rec 709 also calls into question the red comment.

I too am waiting for the experts from the Shootout. The review that was posted on this forum is the absolutely most Ignorant review I have ever read.

IR: lessons after a few days too a point not visible. Not an issue and surely not Burn in

RED: under saturation. fixable with calibration as bad as this review was I would not be surprised if this reviewer had the color temp on cool when he made this observation

Too bright. OMG, this is just IGNORANT

Waiting for the PRO's, enough ameture hour for me.

Make up your mind, so you want a Brighter OLED that may have a 50 hour break in. Temp IR is not Burn in PERIOD. This will be the same on the 4K OLED, it is LG's new brighter display.

I tested the same incredible black level and massive contrast as with previous OLEDs, but the EC9300 also exhibited a few flaws that weren't present on LG's EA9800 and EA8800. This TV undersaturates red, follows an overly steep gamma curve, and creates mild but present banding when transitioning between color gradients.

Seems the 2014 is worse in sum parts.

Yeah, anyone with half a brain can understand that the review is garbage
Most issues they have can be changed with a calibration or just going into settings
Also, they call Ir burn in, which they somehow removed
Lol

if the experts in the Shootout conclude this 9300 is NOT as good as the 9800 with all of it uniformity issues, I will refuse delivery of this set and purchase the Samsung OLED. But the review VAK wants to quote as Gospel may be discredited by the Experts in just a couple hours.

I'll take some gray uniformity over a distorted picture

Let's just wait. This review is so poorly written I will not make any decision by it. And yes, I finally saw the Samsung OLED and it is the Best overall display I have ever seen. There is also a point of Good Enough, I will have too pay $2000 more for the Samsung and still need to find out if the 9300 is Good Enough.

Just exactly what are you taking issue with? It doesn't seem that far out of line, no different than most others. He does find issues, unlike some other reviewers.

Abundant OTA television is what makes this country different from all others. Lets keep it this way. If you like Wi-Fi so much, OTA fits right in. After all, it is wireless.

What was the major problem with the 9800 you had? I thought you just returned it b.c the new one was coming out for the same price.

Anyone calling IR Burn in is either ignorant or? Too make a big deal about a TV being too bright that can be calibrated to fix? Calling it a bright room TV? There is absolutely nothing professional about this review, It screams I know nothing about Home Theater Displays?

Professional reviews write about B4 calibrations and after and th after is what matters. I have never read a review that Warns people about issues that are fixed with a simple calibration. This review is The absolute worst I have ever read.

Proper Review Format:

Overview of basics, looks size, facts what it comes with.

Pre-calibration results

Post-calibration results

Conclusion.

It is very basic and what the Pros have been using for decades, it's called an outline. This reviewer needs to start form square one, he is all over the place with non-sense.

If the 9300 fails to be an upgrade with a year of R&D I will lose faith in LG and RUN to Samsung. I love OLED and still am not sold on 4K.
