In light of new information probably no TV panels anyway they are both in talkes with LGD about WOLED supply for TV's

These panels will be for mobile and small PC ,small commercial signage, maybe tard pads , maybe consumer PDP.,
B2B commercial and industrial , automotive , Panasonic Aviation military and industrial , other aviation/ military/industrial , Sony inc. Medical and PDP ,+many other OEM/ODM ...... B2B margins and opportunities are much better than C.E. (TV)

This information is speculative and should not be considered as advise and should not be used for trading

JOLED will bring together world-leading(?) OLED diplay technologies from Sony and Panasonic, including use of printing technology for OLED production, transparent amorphous oxide semiconductors, and flexible display technology. In addition, JOLED plans to take adventage of JDI's wide-ranging portfolio of display technologies. JOLED's aim is to become the leader in the global OLED display market.

When this works out they might as well start working on larger sized OLED stuff..

btw they should have called it ''YO LED'' or ''JLO LED'', gives kind of a ''Beats'' effect to it

Interesting, but according to Wikpedia that happened two years ago; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oled
Quote:
On June 25, 2012, Sony and Panasonic announced a joint venture for creating low cost mass production OLED televisions by 2013
Then this happened;
http://www.cnet.com/news/sony-panaso...d-partnership/

Which lead to this:
http://www.tvtechnology.com/article/...oled-jv/271600

Am I missing something here? Can't they make up their minds? (I must of missed the low cost mass production of OLED panels last year)

.
.
Abundant OTA television is what makes this country different from all others. Lets keep it this way. If you like Wi-Fi so much, OTA fits right in. After all, it is wireless.

I didn't read all of the articles, but my understanding was that the earlier 2012 initiative was a direct joint research collaboration between Sony and Panasonic that they decided to abandon earlier this year, while the new JOLED initiative seems to be nothing more than a way for them both to attempt to salvage something from that earlier collaboration and their past R&D investments into OLED by teaming up with Japan Display and the broader consortium.

Sounds as two women that can't make up their mind on what color to paint over expensive oak trim.

Sony didn't say a word about TV in their updated financial forecast, from what I've found. That suggests it's immaterial to the company. Probably about as near/far from breakeven as it has been. Certainly not a bright spot to highlight.

There is no difference in HDMI cables. If you can see the picture without visible dropouts or sparklies, the cable is working at 100%. No other cable will display a better version of that picture. You're simply wrong if you think there is a better digital cable than one that is already working. (Oh, and plasma didn't die because of logistics problems, nor does OLED ship in big boxes because it comes from Korea.)
