Hello

First, just wanted to say that I’ve learned a lot from this forum, so thanks.

I’m going to buy a display next week and would like your input. I will mostly watch standard cable TV along with DVDs. Also, if I can use it as a computer monitor, that would be great!

I am in Korea right now so my options are limited, or different. I have decided on two models by LG, renamed X-Canvas which I believe is a reputable company.

I copied all the info I could understand.

1. LG X Canvas Projection LCD TV: (new model)
Model: RN-48SZ40H
48â€
HD-AFC (All format up converter)
1080i, 480i~1080i
DSVM
DASP
PC out XGA
US$3200

My question is can either TVs do EDTV 480p? The LCD lists a range, but I am not sure.

Also, what is the difference between LCD and Projection LCD? This TV is not a thin and light as the Plasma or smaller LCD.

2. LG X canvas PLASMA TV :
Model: MN-42PZ10
42â€
SD only, not HD
PC out: SVGA
900Cd/m²
1200:1
US$3200

I read that SVGA is not suitable for PC use, especially for word or internet. Is that correct? What about XGA?

Also, how delicate are these TVs? If I pack them well, will I have any problems when I ship them back home via boat?

It’s hard to find good info on these TVs and I can’t test them anywhere. I doubt that these are available in the US so I don’t expect much advice, but I though I would try. I'll post a review as soon as I get one.
Thank you.
