I hope so too...it's getting tough to watch everyone who's ordered this month already get their shipments coming. :( I asked the vendor I've ordered from when they think the shipment is coming...I didn't hear back today, so hopefully tomorrow.

Wish me luck! ;)

No need to vent anymore - PWD6UY finally got here 30 minutes ago. Triple boxed...Dec. 2003 Made in Japan.

Even got a phone call from VA, from one of the partner... apologizing for the delay and gave me a little treat. I am happy and will still be their customer in the future.

Suprfly2k - that's great news....at least you don't have to suffer the agony of anticipation for a long wait.

Even paying a little more is probably worthed.

Congrats...

It's true. I think I was just at the right place at the right time...

Just out of curiosity, I clicked the TVAuthority banner on this page this morning. They showed "1" in stock. I assumed that it was probably bait and switcch, but I placed an on-line order anyway. I did ask them to call me before charging my card though. About an hour later, I got a call from a very nice lady who said, indeed, they had a single unit, and she wanted to confirm I wanted it because they had "like 5000 people waiting".

I told her to set me up! She confirmed that it was a sealed in-box unit with factory warranty and that it was in the truck today.

$3,150 to my door, 3-5 days.

It's all of my good living.;)

I have Panny on backorder from VA. Would it be bad form to get on the Plasma Concepts backorder list as well and take the first one that becomes available?

Hey guys, when you vent here please note the model, at least state 42 or 50, ED or HD, it really helps (and the vendor, of course). It sounds like only the 42 ED's are in short supply, correct? Plasma Concepts and VA both seem to have 50's in stock.
Thanks.

I'm in 42 ED limbo right now. I was on the plasmaextreme.us waiting list...but no longer now that they've closed shop. :(

I'm trying to figure out where to go to get this unit asap...I've been waiting for it (on a waiting list) since mid December.

JuiceRocket,

Try calling DTVCity. They come highly recommended. Their site says they are out of stock (the ED 42"), but I was told on the phone that they are getting some in today.

I finally got mine (pwd6uy) yesterday. I was on the waiting list at Monitor Outlet since early December (I think). They kept expecting them to come in and never did till last Friday. It was shipped directly from a distributor in WA state, not from Monitor Outlet in FL.

Even though it came in a month later than I expected, Jared at Monitor Outlet always called me back every time I sent a e-mail asking for an update.

I'm thrilled with the HD pic. Scared to view sd because my STB is an Explorer3100hd that only outputs 1080 and thus I cannot 'just' the sd pics and don't want burn in. So until I get a different box or maybe hook up via svideo I can only use it for HD and DVD.

It did not come on a pallet, nor did it have any tilt sensors. It was double-boxed and the boxes seemed to be in good shape.

Update on my order of a 42pwd6uy from VA on 12/23. In my last post it was to ship on Tues (2/3). Well, it actually shipped the next day. Trucking company now says it will be in Atlanta Monday (2/9) then here in Tampa Tuesday. I should get the call for delivery some time Tuesday, so I guess delivery to my door should be Wed (2/11) which is about what VA told me when they confirmed the order Monday. You could techincally make the case it's 3-5 days shipping. But, from their confirmation to my door and counting weekend days it's more like 9.

And the wait is over. I am happy to say my order from www.ourstore.com went as smooth as could be. Ordered on Thursday and recieved it today.

Their site still says in stock so check it out if you are still looking.

Now on to the long hours of watching and tweaking.

I actually picked up the plasma from the shipper because I had the day off and didn't want to wait till tomorrow. They shipped via AIT. Box was in perfect condition. The plasma box was secured by two straps and the stand box was put on top. Everything was then shrink wrapped nicely and another set of straps put on securing it to a pallet.

The few reseller ratings I found were all positive and they were very professional on the phone. I had the choice of driving down to their place and picking it up or having it shipped. I save about $75 by shipping it because of sales tax. That and the $25 in gas it would have cost to drive there and back. They're in Buffalo Grove, IL and I'm in Milwaukee, WI. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

As for the picture, I am extremely pleased. I haven't done any adjusting of the settings and already it is much much better than the Electrograph I had first tried. And this is SD cable over Tivo. The HD is stunning and Nemo looks great of course. I can't wait to get it dialed in and see how much better I can get it. In the end I paid about $1000 more than I had with the Dell deal but I am happy with it and that is what matters in the end.

I recall your name from one of the older electrograph threads. My 6UY is in transit, I'm also anxious to play.

What input did you use w/ your Tivo? I hear that the SD picture is best w/ composite vs the other signals like Svid and component. Did you also find that to be true?

not to argue but, it's not exactly a 'no-name' yahoo store, they've been in biz. for many years now... i personally checked them out via the BBB, past customer reviews as well as via this board. many members here have ordered from them and reported excellent service. couldn't find one negative comment.

it was me that referred crucial to them (he asked).

i also phoned them twice and spoke to knowledgeable staff... that was the selling point for me. i'm expecting mine tomorrow afternoon from them, very excited!!

'tara' is a great sales rep.! very friendly and accomodating. called me multiple times to keep me in the loop on where everything was going...

even if the display arrives tomorrow damaged, i'd think it was the freight people (AIT) and not ourstore that failed me, but, that remains to be, hopefully, un-seen!

lol.

;)

so crucial.... glad you likee!! them carrying actual stock was another question i asked them. point blank, i asked them if they were a drop shipment company and they're not. they carry onsite stock at their shop and are an official distributor of panny equip.

:D

i'm only a customer, i have no affiliation w/the site, staff or panasonic.

-patrick.

Why did you buy a consumer version when the new Panny consumer models are coming out in 2 months? They will have the cable card feature where you don't need a STB, among other new features. I guess you must have gotten a great deal.
