It's amazing to me how everyone of us spends countless hours and energy in an attempt to find the best price on equipment, once we happen along a great value it has to be "to good to be true" !

What's even more amazing to me is the countless hours and energy people spend speculating.

It's human nature -- Need to know. I've already ordered one of these puppies, and I know I'm not going to see it until at least mid-May - but I need to know everything about it - hence I visit this thread frequently.

Don't be amazed - just join the club and order one :)

Price to far off?

Look at this on Ebay

If the price is so OFF, Why is this similar TV going for a such a low price? Do not jump the gun. Prices ARe going down.

Stay the course and buy this bad boy. I speak with Crutch almost Every day and they are a solid company. If anything goes sour. the blame goes to BenQ

It's not a similar TV. There was some confusion early on regarding the new Syntax LCDs, and information/specs got criss-crossed. The LT37HV 37" Olevia LCD is NOT 1920x1080, tho some sites may report it as such. It's borderline criminal for websites to advertise it as true 1980x1080.

I believe it;s only 1366x768. Order one, and you won't be getting native 1080p......

Can this Benq be hung on a wall? It is going to look goofy if the base is not removable.

According to the Crutchfield description it says "detachable stand (depth is 7-1/2". This information isn't on the Benq site though

The Crutchfield rep I spoke with said he showed a wall-mount kit but didn't have price or availability for it so he wanted to check to be sure it was intended for this set before he promised anything on that.

Probably won't get the info until the TV's actually arrive.

The stands are very nearly always detachable.

There is no difference in HDMI cables. If you can see the picture without visible dropouts or sparklies, the cable is working at 100%. No other cable will display a better version of that picture. You're simply wrong if you think there is a better digital cable than one that is already working.

I would like to sell tuner cards to BenQ. I am pretty sure I can supply them for less than $3K per card, but only if they order in volume! :D

We need that Dave guy with the nipple avatar from the HD Tivo thread to make this a true nonsensical pre-order thread. Maybe we should make a list of who ordered the 1080p BenQ from Crutch and when so we can figure who is first in line. Then we can insult anyone who says anything bad about Crutch, until the trolls take over the thread and make this a Crutch bashing thread.

Crutchfield is sticking to their story...

The wait continues.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for choosing Crutchfield for your electronics purchase.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in the BenQ DV3750 37"
Widescreen HD Ready LCD Television. I certainly can understand your
concern and frustration. However, according to BenQ, we should receive
them around May 15, 2005. Of course this is just an estimated date and
could arrive sooner or later.

I'm also very sorry about the confusion in the price. However, you will
be glad to know that you will only be charged $1999.99 (since that is
the price that is listed on your order). I also show that the price of
this item has not changed at all.

Thanks again for your e-mail and for your patience. Please let me know
if you need anything else.

Yeah, why is Crutch aware of any 'confusion' with the price?

Did someone call and tell them what BenQ is quoting as the MSRP....?

I specifically asked them in my original e-mail sent on April 5th:
>Crutchfield has already slipped one ship date on this monitor,
>and has a policy of adjusting prices based on manufacturer changes.
>How do I know Crutchfield will not keep slipping the ship date and
>adjust the price upwards at a later date?

I think the e-mail from the CS rep won't mean a thing if the MSRP goes up.

I can't find the word confusion in my original e-mail to Crutchfield so I don't know why that
was in the reply.

I bought a Dell 24" 1080P panel for MSRP. (Also BenQ/Samsung from what I hear) A 37" 1080P LCD is 136% larger, and I would be willing to pay 136% more. I know panel pricing isn't linear, but that would have been fine for me. I wholeheartedly support Crutchfields decision to make it cheaper than linear irregardless of BenQ's MSRP!

Actually I saw the 32" version of this LCD tv at a local store. The store has a website microcenter.com

The price is $100 cheaper than Crutchfield.

I think the pricing is correct for the 37". Plus, no tax for me and free in home delivery.

You really can't call it the '32" version of this', even tho the model number for both runs: DV-(diagonal ")50.

The 32 isn't 1920x1080.

But, that it is $100 cheaper than Crutch is something to keep in the back of your mind ......

Let's try to see how many people on this string ordered the Dv3750 and when they ordered. I am extra interested to know who order first. Hopefully the first people who receive this unit will post their review quickly to see if this LCD is worth the wait or not.

Call out if you ordered this unit from Crutch.

Ordered 3/26

I spoke to Crutchfield CSR and also got a call from them. Both CSRs confirmed they didn't know when they can ship this specific product since even the manufacture can't give them an accurate date.
anyway, I ordered one on 4/1 and I will take my chance on Crutchfield.

O.K>

So Far:

2 on 3/26
1 on 4/1
1 on 4/7

I'm certain that many more have purchased on this forum.

From now on when anyone posts. Please state if you ordered and on what date. And I will keep a tally. Knowing who ordered will help out down the road to see if we have enough voice to keep Crutch down the straight and narrow regarding thing such as class action suits and so on.
Lawyers cost much more than mistaken prices and poor reputations. Somebody in this mix, Crutch or BenQ Knows that an error has occured and they need to inform us or take a chance and stay the course with current pricing. Time will tell. I for one will not let go lightly.

Please post you Purchase date

Thank you

Isn't this getting a tad absurd?

Class action suits for a TV? C'mon...
